Rusted Megan Racing SS DP

Yup, I'd bet money Megan uses ferretic 409 SS. Technically it's a stainless steel, but it corrodes easily and is magnetic. 409 is commonly used my many exhaust manufacturers.

You are right; the MR DP is not SS 304. I checked it and it is magnetic except for the flex part. However, the cat back portion of my exhaust which is also MR has no rust at all and is still like new and of course is not magnetic.
SS 409 and SS 441 are often used for exhaust pipe and they corrode, sometimes even quicker than aluminized mild steel. Wrapping SS409 makes corrode a lot quicker than if left exposed. The parts that were not wrapped on my DP had some pitting but nothing that jeopardize the integrity of the exhaust. I will try to fix mine for now but I will get another one that is really made out of SS304.

I have removed all the rust and and used high temperature header spray. Here is the final result.
