I was told due to the way my vacuum lines are set up i am running lower boost. off of my TB all the Vacuums are plugged, off of my Intake manifold i have two vacuum lines. One running to my BOV that is T'ed to the wastegate on my turbo. the other running from the IM to my fuel rail. Is this perchance lowering my boost? I dont understand how it would but this is what i was told, please advise.

Regardless, you shouldn't tee ANYTHING off your bov line. You need to tap a nipple into your j-pipe or compressor housing to go to your boost controller (or straight to the wastegate).

I have no boost controller as of yet. So run the BOV straight to the IM minus the T. The the line running from my turbo wastegate needs to go where? please clarify, and just out of curiosity and to broaden my knowledge, why is it a bad idea to T off the BOV???

You sure about that? Most diagrams I have seen show exactly the way he is set up. It allows for your boost to be controlled by the wastegate, which is controlled by the spring in the wastegate. I'm not sure what that is for the stock wastegate but I would assume you can find it on here and it's probably close to stock but I would assume slightly more then normal.

Yes, I'm sure about that. This is old news guys and has been covered many times. I'm trying to find a good post by oldman now that explains why in detail.

Like I said before this subject has been absolutely positively beaten to death. Do what you want. I'll listen to oldman.

This has been beaten to death. Use a pressure source as close to the compressor outlet as possible and not from a vacuum source behind the throttle body, let alone T'ing into the BOV.

There are NO benefits from T'ing into the BOV, only dangers.

EDIT: I'm sorry, pjhale16, I read that too quick.

I don't think there's any reason to get offensive about it. In fact, you weren't even answering his question. He asked if this would lower his boost. No reason to act like that at all.

I'll admit the paint diagram is pretty kick ass, but that does not make it more credible.

I said oldman was a more reputable source but the actual diagram looked more credible, which I think anyone would agree with. I understand the problem but I know many people run there mbc the way in the diagram and the fact is that that wasn't even his question.

I read through all the articles and now feel confident that i can add a MBC, luckily i allready ordered a new J Pipe so i think i will do the nipple on it. So after i have a vacuum line on my J pipe before i have a boost controller, i should run the vacuum line on the wastegate of the turbo from the new j pipe's vacuum nipple? Will this affect the boost the car is running?? all i have is the factory boost gauge in the car, it never get to the top line -+ but gets close, thanx for all the help!

That is how you will hook it up. The "pressure source" will be the nipple on the jpipe. Keep the boost controller adjusted all the way down (or just don't put it on) until you get a real boost gauge.

I dont have any boost controller yet it is on the very soon to get list, should i wait to install the new J pipe until i have a boost controller? If so should i keep it the way it is in terms of vacuum lines or what is an option i could do short of drilling tapping untill i get everything? i dont want to hurt my car waiting for everything to be together!!!

Your car will be fine for now running the way it is. When you get the jpipe, drill and tap it and put a nipple on it. Install the jpipe and run a line from the nipple to the wastegate. When you get a real boost gauge, THEN you can put on a mbc like the picture shows.

You won't hurt anything running the wastegate off of the j pipe nipple. It will be fine and you can run it that way until you get an mbc.

My car is running exactly that way right now until I can figure out my compressor surge problems. It looks nice and clean.
