I tried that on my 02 jetta. after a minute the overpressure relief valve vented. on the jetta the pressure sensor keeps the compressor on until it gets to a certain pressure. IIRC 380psi. and then shuts it off. Once it drops to a certain level, it turns on again. Dont know if the dsm's are like that, but giving you a heads up

Well, what would be safer, running my slim fans on the switch or the a/c compressor because currently i use the oem a/c button to turn both fans on and just pulled the a/c compressor relay so it doesn't turn on. Also MS Paint picture diagrams are very welcome and appreciated thanks.

It would be a very bad idea....

There are checks and balances for a reason in a high pressure system as the HVAC system. If it does not work with the factory switch then you need to find the problem and fix it.

No, at the moment i have both fans getting power from the a/c fan plug (for some reason the engine fan plug doesn't give any power when at operating temp) so when the a/c switch is on both fans turn on. I want to run the fans on the switch now so i can put my A/c compressor relay back in and use my A/C cause its hot out.

Why didn't you wire them separately like the stock set up? If you do it that way one fan will come on when necessary. You can wire them to a toggle, but why when you can have them come on automatically as they are intended to do?

@ed1380 i will, just dont have alot of time to mess with it until im off.

Thanks everyone i've decided to just fix whatever the real issue is and hopefully have the fans and A/C runing like factory.

I deff wouldn't do that there's a write up on how to wire up slim fans on this site. If anything id run the coolant fan off of a toggle switch since the a/c fan only kicks on when u have your a/c running not because ## motors hot

Yeah, i installed everything back when i was in school and have yet to find time to rewire everything due to work, but tomorrow ima get back in there and fix things:thumb:

UPDATE: i got everything to work like factory, but ahen the A/C is on for like 10min or there is some type of load on the engine(going uphill) the car overheats. It goes 3/4 of the way hot and when i stop and let it sit with the A/C off it comes back down to normal, any ideas on how to fix thins.

Thanks

Try a Stant 170* thermostat. If that dies not work, and you cannot utilize your stock fans, attempt better ducting to/between your fmic and rad.

Yeah im looking into doing some duct work this weekend, and found out today it only starts to overheat when the fan switch is at speed 4 and the A/C is on. So
no MAX A/C for me which is fine, speed 3 gets the job done(and 5% tint :thumb:)
