Car: 99 GSX auto
Miles 150k

I recently had the alternator and battery replaced along with the SMIC because of a boost leak. new SMIC did nothing, still does it, I will be driving along around 40mph and it will feel like the car stalls for a second while this is happening I see the RPM's surge. In my search I only say stuff about idle surge. also it can do it in neautral when pushing the air pedal so I doubt its transmission related. blocked off almost all emissions besides EGR, still does it. RFL BOV looks good and doesnt open until I let off the gas in high boost.

kind of out of idea's  and yes I will be doing a pressure test I just wanted to see if anyone else experienced this.

also note I had my foot firmly placed on pedal ROFL
also check engine light only came up with one code TPS, could be a bad sensor but its only a year old or BOV is throwing the code.

my car idles fine, its only in those rpms when I push on the gas pedal.

checking vacuum lines the previous owner had a line from the wastegate to a "T" to the BOV and intake manifold. I have no boost controller or does it matter?

No boost controller why not? curious, with idle it could be anything causing it so many variables do a boost leak test for starters.

I am really not sure, I just got this car about a week ago. I guess they wanted that swoosh sound so they hooked it up like so they used a vacuum line from the waste-gate to the bov, skipping the turbocharger waste-gate solenoid.

well off to lowes I go LOL
