I am sure this has been asked a few times but I have not found the answer to my question... I have gotten my rods R&R and have purchased new OEM Rod and Main Bolts. My question is “do I use the torque specs provided by Mitsubishi or do I have to use another torque spec for new OEM bolts and nuts on R&Red rods?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

No prob. better same than sorry

Same reason you don't want OEM head bolts. They're weaker than arp's and I've seen rod bolts snap before the rod reached its limit. And a couple days ago I saw some BNIB arp rod bolts on the classifieds for $30

OEM main bolts are fine for a good bit of power though, So I wouldn't worry about them.

That's what I thought. Just wanted to make sure.

This might be a stupid question but why wouldn't I want to use OEM rod bolts on my OEM rods?

Arp's are stronger and resuable for about the same money.

Have never bought a manual myself but I'm sure if you go buy a manual at autozone it will show torque specs on everything. They're is probably a PDF someone put together on torque specs I'm sure. And if so I hope it gets posted on here:)

Thank you. However, I have the manual and do not need to know the OEM Torque specs. I was just wondering if i could use those specs with my OEM rods that have been R&Red. Which ed1380 has been kind enough to answer for me.
