I have a 95 ESi with 17" eclipse wheels and the road noise is horrible inside the car. I just put four brand new Michelin Pilot Sports on it. I dont care about the weight addition but how well do you guys think removing the carpet and headliner and "dynamat"ing everything would work? Any past experience would be appreciated.

I've done it. I used FATMAT rather then DYnamat (both about same thing) and it took me a mere 5 hours to do. I pulled the carpet, seats, rear seats, and cargo cover out to reach the hatch area. I FATMATTED everything from the pedals back to my taillight housings.

Is it worth it? Yes. I think so. I noticed a decrease in road noise FOR SURE. But, not enough. I want my car silent. Almost like a Lexus quiet, silence inside the cabin.

So I plan on adding another layer of the stuff for double the deadening.. :thumb:

...and how much did you spend?

Yeah but in a daily driver weight is a reasonable price (to me anyway) to be able to hear myself think. I will probably do the headliner, too. The roof (w/o sunroof) is loud as hell too I bet

how does dynamat add weight?? it doesn't weigh more than a few ounces a piece... i guess i just don't see how it would really add lots of weight from my experience of using it on a couple of my buddies car's for stereo system's.. i'm not saying your wrong i'm just wondering....

haha wouldn't we all love to do it. Things like this just take so much time, and if you are content with having a quick car with a lot of roadnoise...then that's all that matters.

What about using a bedliner type spray on the floor? Would that help at all you think?
