I bough the Crowers (from MAP)when i ordered my crank and replacement rod the other day. I have regularly driven my friends 500+ horse GSX that runs the same ones and was very pleased with how they held up at 9k shifts on dual 272 cams ( and the price was just right)

My friend now wants to rev higher so he's getting beehives.. I can say for sure the BC's will be just fine for your goals after spending so much time behind the wheel of his car... The Manley's i have no experience with in DSM's so i can't speak for them.

ok guys, Thanks for the info, so Choice A is the way to go right???? and it all fits in a stock head right?

Nothing wrong with manley's springs. In talks with their tech line, they actually UNDER rate their springs. Little extra insurance if you miss a shift and rev to the moon.

I'm glad you went with BC, maybe a little biased though since I get really good deals from the Crower line of parts... Manley is good stuff hands down. Let us know how you make out and if your setup required any spring shimming.

Horsepower figure, like GSXecutioner posted, does not determine which spring you are going to run, or be adequate... Not in that range 350-400. With the "regular" 272 cams, like HKS;BC;FP2; WEB cams; etc, you can run stock single spring all day long and rev it above 8-8.5K What matters is, what is the ramp rate of the cams in question, how sudden/fast / valve goes from fully closed - to fully open posistionand how far goes the valve lift.
That is determined by cam lobe profile/ some people say almost square lobes. Regardless of what someone did here and there and didn't have a failure, doesn't mean that this is right. Check FP site for more details and info, or talk to them. Otherwise, he wouldn't have any problem with single springs on this set up right now.
