anyone know why my fans are not working? there is a manual switch that runs to the battery and when on, it works fine. I never use that switch but I want to know why my fans dont turn when hot. I was overheating as soon as I pulled up the driveway. I switched relays around and still same result any ideas?

your fans seem to be hardwired to your battery and skipping all sensors like your thermostat. I would check vfaq and rewire.

Agree with Mlutin. Fans are hardwired, thereby bypassing the relay. Talk to the previous owner to see if there is a reason for the hardwire or just follow the diagram and remove the switch.

The guy sold it to me for that reason and installed that manual switch. I know he also replaced the ECT sensor. After I took the car it would run fine and has since nov 07. this is the first time it overheats and also its the first time I drove with A/C at about 100 degrees outside.

Hey guys I already changed the coolant temp sensor at it still overheats. I was looking at the wires out of the driver side connector and there is a blue and white wire that appears to be cut but there is nothing on the other end. th 3 other wires go up to ecu. where does this wire go and is it important?might this be my problem?

ok guys. problem solved. The things that are said to cause rad fan to not work are coolant temp sensor, relay, fuse and wiring. after checking all I took off some old tape off the wiring and discovered some light blue corrosion like the battery post tend to grow. I cleaned it with a brush retaped it turned it on and couple minutes later fans came on. keep in mind when they were not working I would hear noises and clicks as if they were about to go on. Blue and white wire i guess its not used, i dont know. Anyways thanks everone.
