if its by the cam gear it should be the one from my pic in post #24

IF its loose and or cracked it wont read correctly. Restate if its loose its POSSIBLE it isnt reading correctly, and IF its cracked Theres a GOOD chance it needs replaced.

I will go take some pictures, hopefully you can see it since its behind the camgear. And when we tugged on it, it was moving verry easily. Also it seemed to have a L shaped crack on it. Could this be my problem? But back in a few with pics.

Well not too good of pics but here they are anyways.

That is the 95-96 setup. I posted before if its loose or cracked its most likely your issue. I would recommend replacing. If the sensors insulation is cracked and its hanging loose and your getting a CEL then most likely bad. Try tightening it up and see if it starts.

So the cas I have is the 95-96 style? Also could this problem cause just 2 cylinders to spark, or would it be all cylinders that didn't get spark? But I will post up once I change the part out and see if that hopefully does anything.

I personally have never removed it with the cam gear still on, but its worth a shot. It should be 2 10mm bolts holding the sensor in place. If you can get a wrench behind the cam gear you might be able to get it.

If the timing belt hasn't been changed then maybe it would be worth it to replace it, and make things a little easier for replacing the cas.

Damn i didnt wanna replace the timingbelt now since im gonna rebuild the head and when i did that I was going to buy the HKS or greddy belt. Well hopefully if I can get it off like that i'll just do it with the belt on. I got the part ordered and will switch it out this coming saturday with some help.LOL Hopefully this will fix my problem:pray:

I'm hoping with you LOL.

If I were you I would save myself some money and get the oem t-belt. Hks and greddy are cool, but oem has been proven to work time and time again.

There are several threads on this topic, but if you wanna get those for the name brand then, well, I guess go ahead LOL.

Yeah thats true, i guess ill buy this oem one if i cant replace the sensor with camgears on,but also its just so much money now like 50 or so for belt and 50 for sensor. Im a broke person. LOL

Sorry for the late response Rush. My brother ordered me the part and once it got there they sent the NON turbo part. So, I just picked up the correct part today. This Saturday I will hopefully be switching this out and have my baby run again.

Guys, just want to say thanks for alll your help. we finished changing out the CAS last night and finally got spark to 4cylinders. I will be putting together the pulleys and all that stuff soon, and should be good to go. again thanks a lot.
