[RESOLVED] Bare 6 bolt block...really 6 bolt?

I have a 6 bolt in my car so I should know, but I didn't do the swap myself so I really can't tell...

I need a new 6 bolt block (don't ask) and I sourced one, but it is bare. The difference between a 6 bolt and 7 bolt is obvious with the oil pan, head, crank and such parts on the engine but this one has nothing.

I know there are some subtle changes such as how the oil is fed to the squiters, but is there any visible difference? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The main bearing caps will be noticeably different. On a 7bolt, they are all connected together. On a 6bolt, it has 1-2 main caps joined, 3 is individual, and 4-5 are joined. There are other differences but that is the easiest, most noticable way to tell them apart.

I know this is old thread but is that for the 1g 7bolt too??

Yeah, the 1g 7-bolt has the same configuration as what 92awddsm described for the 6-bolt.
