so it's one single speaker pointing up? it looks kinda wierd if you're just gonna stick that silver thing where your backseat was.

that silver thing is primer grey. and it will be painted black to match the interior. the computer goes inside the "silver thing"
the keyboard is attached to the drivers side visor. it wont be used to much but is handy to have.
the computer functions right now are: mp3's(millions),gps,dvd,xm radio, bluetooth internet(slow but cool as sh!t. i can hook up to the net with my cell phone in my pocket.) video cam, it interfaces with msns ems aswell, it also does anything else windows xp does. no more boring heatunit for me.

my total to me is about 300 dollars. since i sold the screen and dvd player that was in the double din. i also sold my safc2. it is a fun lil project and is always upgradeable.

Aren't you worried about magnetic interference (wiping hard drive etc) with having the sub so close to the computer? It looks small enough that you could put it under the dash.

the board is 9.5x 9.5. it will be far enough from the sub to not be a problem. i could put it in the glove box somehow..... but only if this way causes a problem.

Don't you think it's going to be uncomfortable having to turn around in your seat just to look at the computer screenWTF I'd go ahead and put 2 subs in the back and throw the computer in the glovebox.

a computer isn't the screen. the screen still goes up front, the computer goes in back. no turning around to look at the screen.

Yeah but, isn't that going to be uncomfortable to sit on? Unless of course you're cranking Howard Stern. OMG
who said anything about the back seat being functional? the back seat in a 2g is worthless. i could barely put my infant daughter back there. now she is 2 and rides in the back seat of a civic. i am 6'4 and when i sit in my eclipse my seat almost touches the back. there is no point in keeping that backseat... so bye,bye

:tease: That was a movie reference actually. Go watch "Private Parts" and you'll get it.

I'm 6'4 too and can barely fit in my 1g, with about 4" of leg room behind me (I yanked my back seat and will probably do something similar.) How the #%@! do you fit in a 2g? I couldn't even come close to squeezing myself into one when I tried. No head room at all.

It looks like the plaster volcano I made in elementary school. The best part was pouring in the vinegar and baking soda!

ROFL - I think more than one speaker might look better, but that is definitely unique and I give you a :thumb: for it. Nice keyboard btw.

Nifty idea.

I'm 6'6" and drive a 2g every day. Although I do have more room in my 1g.

Are you guys just all legs or do I have an abnormally long upper body? I have to lean the seat WAAAAAY back to fit in one without wedging my head against the ceiling. My buddy, 6'2" could barely fit in one he test drove. Do you have aftermarket seats that sit lower?

Sorry, not trying to thread steal, but the headroom thing drives me nuts. I have to yank my headliner to wear a helmet in the car.

how exactly do you plan on controlling everying as far as software goes?

you might wanna look into an ATI remote also that would be cool
this controls the software stuff. i got it today and it doesn't work. i will have to send it back and get another. i put it on the consol so you can kinda get the idea of how i am mounting it.

Yeah i know thats how your goin to control it. with a USB touch LCD screen but i mean wat programs in windows are you goin to run.

example if you play your Mp3's in winamp and your resoultion is set to 1024x768 how are you goin to see wat songs are playing its goin to be super small. Trying to figure all that out while driving would be a bi***. There is a program that you might wanna look into BUTTTTT i dont remember the name ......... i'll find it later. Basically it is a mod for windows that makes everything nice big and organzied. Other then that :thumb: good job so far man keep us posted

this program does it all. my skin is read with a mit. logo in the center.
this program is called mobil impact. it is the most user friendly program i have found yet. it was created by reddeath30 of mp3car.com it is great

and my motherboard decided to take a crap on me so i am going to go with a little different setup. i might have to spen a few more bucks but it will be worth it in the end. at least thats what i tell my wife.
