Yes. How much fun is it to do a tranny/clutch job? Would you want to do it again just to replace a $5 seal? I replace the seals every time I do any work that is close to them...TB job gets 5 seals replaced...clutch job gets a rear seal.

I also dont agree with this, it may not be leaking now, but when you put it back together, it could leak tomorrow, you never know, you have the tranny out, since you have acess to it, I would indeed replace it, just make sure you do it right and dont tear the seal putting it in, and while your at it, replace your tranny axle seals and transfer case seals as well, they are like 5-10 dollars at most each, depending where you buy them from, its just a little insurance and peace of mind kind of thing, my trannys out, so I am replacing all my seals.

I was thinking the same thing i'll change it but do it the right way and drop the oil pan and take the housing off. Just was asking because im starting to get a bit tired of all the work nearly completed the 5-speed swap so this would be the last thing before i put the new tranny on.
Thanks for the opinions

I would change it and you don't have to drop the pan. You can sneak out the seal housing with the pan still on.
