rear main seal causing low oil pressure?

i have reason to believe my rear main seal is leaking. its been doing it for about a week. Now my oil light is flickering on and off at random. my oil level isnt low yet so i asumed its causing me to have low oil pressure. i just wanted some more opinion on wether or not i have multiple problems or if its just the rear main.

Well if you have a leak your leaking oil, once that happens you oil will be low. Loo for more oil leaks.

yes im leaking oil but at the time of the light coming on i was full. So does the light mean "low oil pressure"

It means the oil is low, check the unit, for the light, and wiring could be a short or bad wire its a old car.

Other than the oil level, the rear main has no effect on oil pressure. It's just to keep oil inside the engine instead of all over the clutch and ground.

Check the tension on your oil pressure sender wire where it slides onto the sender if your level is correct.

+1 if that doesn't solve the problem then replace the pressure switch $20.00 autozone.If that still doesn't work you may have a bad oil pump.

everything looks good with the oil pressure. i'll be changing the rear main seal some time this week if the rain lets up.
