We were having trouble getting the car into 3rd gear with our single disc clutch anything above 6k and in the boost it would grind into 3rd... So shep told us to send back the trans to have it rebuilt AGAIN and we need a twin disc, so thats what we did... But now after everything is broke in... IT STILL DOES IT....

Anything above 6k RPMS and in the Boost at WOT it will Grind going into 3rd... Like it makes the little grind noise right in the shifter.. Car shifts into every GEAR FINE except 3rd.

Brand New Shep Stage 3 TRANS
Brand New shep slave cylinder
Brand New competition Clutch TWIN DISC rated at 1000hp

3000$ later we still have the SAME PROBLEM, Really getting annoyed and doubting shep.

Can SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Maybe you can take the car to shep, if you live close by.
Not saying it can't be mechanical error, but i've read some good stuff about shep trans and if you said it was rebuilt and a new twin disc assembley was installed maybe you have an linkage problem or air in the system. Is the g/box a double syncro g/box or a stock rebuilt gearbox?
Try bleeding the clutch again btw.

Get on the phone with shep talk to them point blank tell them what's going on I have always had excellent luck with them cannot remember the guys name I dealt with maybe matt but there customer support is excellent

I was having a similar issue in my rebuilt trans as well, shifted like butter in every gear, but had a slight grind going into 3rd. I swapped cables, and switched out some of the brackets on the transmission and it solved the problem.

Verify what year case you have and make sure you have the appropriate cables/brackets.

Its a brand New Mitsubishi 2G trans, With Sheps Stage 3 Upgrade parts...

If you push the clutch in from a stop and rev the car up does it move forward at all. If not then the clutch is not the issue. You need to make damn sure the cables are perfect. You should be able to rev that trans to 10k and shift with no issues.

Can you make the car grind by revving the car and putting it in 3rd from a stop. If so disconnect the shift linkage and have someone manually put it into gear and see if it grinds.

I really think its my B&M short Throw shifter, The guy that had the car before me didnt put it in right at all i had to end up cutting about half an inch off the bottom of the shifter rod because it was hitting the mount when going into second... I am going to Pull a Part Tomorrow and taking the whole shifter assembly and cables out of a 2G...

I dont think i'd be the one standing in front of the car doing that!
