My radiator fan is still not working.

I have replaced the relay and the fuse. I know the thermo switch is working because the rad and thermo switch came out of my other car that was working fine. I also have checked as much of the wiring I can get at and it all looks fine. I have close to full voltage coming to the thermo switch and very little resistance from the thermo switch to ground.

When I use a jumper wire accross the terminals on the relay, the fan comes on like its suppossed to, but the a/c fan comes on also. The a/c fan doesn't work when I push the button for the a/c though. WTF

Every time I buy a new relay, it works for a few minutes and then it quits again. The only thing I can think of is if I were to have a relay that could take more amperage, it would work because it is having to power both fans for some reason.

Any thoughts, ideas? Thanks in advance!

Check the male side of the actual plugs, mine somehow managed to blow out and I was scratching my head for a bit too until I noticed that one of the pins looked like it was blown out.

Unplug your AC fan for now.
And see if you can get a relay to last with just the rad fan.
Have you tried jumping the terminals on the thermo switch yet? That should make the fan turn on aswell (with the key on acc)
This may also seem like a dumb suggestion, but when I was still new, the thermostat was stuck shut on my car, so the engine would over heat, and the fan wouldn't turn on because the hot coolant would never reach the thermo switch.

I just ran the jumper wire and left it so the fan runs all the time while the car is running. the engine runs cooler as a result. i'm not sure how you need it to run but that's just my 2 cents.

I'll try that with unplugging the a/c fan. My thermostat is new and I can see the coolant flowing. Thanks for the help!

Don't you also need a switch for this so that they don't stay on after you turn the car off? Or is the switch just so you can shut it off and on while the car is running.

no you don't need a switch, becuz the relay socket you install the jumper in is powered by the ignition switch when it's on. so key on power, key off no power. hope this helps.

well the unplugging the a/c fan idea didn't work. thanks anyway.

I solved the problem today guys! turns out it was the condenser fan motor relay. who knew?! LOL
