RRE VDO Boost Gauge Installation Instructions

Did the search seen the threads, just curious what they mean when they say.

1. Remove the plastic panel on the left side of the center console. (Pop off the plastic covers and remove the Phillips screw and pop out one plastic clip.) Look for the wires running up towards the back of the cigarette lighter.

I'm not 100% sure which panel they are reffering too and the picture is pretty vague. Is this a good guide to follow?

Talon, Laser, Eclipse 1G Info DSM

Does it slightly different but the RRE seems like it would work as long as I can figure out what panels they are reffering too. Not sure if theres includes dimming though like PL's.

Ok so what they are saying is. Your center consel has a panel on each side. Look at the driver side about in the middle you should see a plastic cap take a small flat head screwdriver and pop it out. Under it is a Phillips head screw remove that and then just pull the panel out, there may be one more screw close to the gas pedal but can't remember. Mines been of so many times only had the one. Then the wires you are looking for will be right in front of you. Hope that helps if you haven't figured it out yet. God bless

they are talking about this....this is the passenger side, you want the 1 on the drivers side.

Can you do it on the dimmer switch as seen here

Dual Gauge Bezel Mount

Seems like less wire to run to have to go all the way to the driver side console. Also what kind of wire do I need for this? It didn't come with any electric wires and I am not exactly what you would called electricianally inclined :p

Its an autometer Ultralite II

Just do it as stated LOL. Its not hard at all.

Alright, so basically center console then fish the wires up inside the dash and out through where the foam whether stripping is on the inside of the pillar pod? do you know what length and type of wire I need for this I can't identify the wire by look, dumb I know but I am bad at electronics. :ohdamn:

And after reading it properly now I see what panel they meant, for some reason my eyes skipped center console and thought they meant the side near the a pillar.

Its an A Pillar Pod btw not a dash bezel.

Found that gonna go that route.

Perfect thanks for the help guys, to make sure I got this I basically.

Buy some 12g wire
Wire it to the dimmer as shown in last link
?????
Profit

:D

Oh, Also what are those clips that clip to the back of the gauge, I know I could just tie the wire through and solder but I seem to remember those flat clips being able to be plugged in by some sort of boot that I can solder into for a cleaner and much easier install and easier removal for changes etc.
