Questions on making an oil return line.

I have a pte 5027e that I am trying to make an oil return line for. I have tried ss and pushlock and it has just been frustration after frustration. They are either cut too short, too long or have huge kinks in the line. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Any input would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

What's the other end look like besides the push lok fitting? I have a -12 push lok drain on my Holset, in fact, check out this thread for ideas.

Use a 90* fitting on the pan, and a straight fitting on the turbo. And clock the CHRA accordingly.

What does CHRA stand for?

CHRA = center housing rotating assembly

When you remove the compressor cover and turbine housing, it's the part that is left. It's clockable independantly of the turbine housing and compressor cover, and in many situations, you make need to clock it a bit to help fit an AN drain assembly.

A 90* may not work depending on how far the manifold pushes the turbo out. I'm using a 45* and I doubt I would fit the 90* in ether stock location on a 6 bolt pan and have it line up with enough space.

Then again, it would most likely depend on the line size and where (if mounted differently from stock drain hole) if it would work or not.

Also OP, dot be concerned if you feel a need to shorten the fitting by removing some of the "ribs". Just clean up the edges of burrs and sharps. If you take it down to the last rib, use a worm gear clamp to make sure itll stay on with out any issues which it shouldn't have anyway.

You'll definately want to have the CHRA clocked so that the return port is facing down, so that it drains properly, otherwise oil will be captured in there everytime.
