The bolt that holds the oil return line to the turbo broke off in the turbo courtesy of the previous owner. Turns out he didnt have a gasket on it and the other bolt wasnt even that tight. Do you think I can get by with jus one bolt, a new gasket and some silicone?

I already tried to use an extractor and it broke too. And my drill isnt really for drilling. Its one of those small snap ons. Its got power but not speed and i cant find a good drill where im at. I currently live in a hotel because i am goin to Nashville Auto Diesel college and the dorms are filled up. So any tips?

I had the same problem last month i took it to a shop that works on my dsm when i cant, he got the broken bolt out. Then he put two studs in there, where the bolts would go, but it worked he, saved my turbo.

Why cant you take it in to class to drill. I am sure they have drill. I dont think it will hold with one bolt.

thats good that it worked out but thats the thing i dont have anywhere i can take it right now or the money to spend for that matter. Im jobless at the moment and school takes most of my time. Im tryin to find a better drill but its not lookin to good. Anything i could do for a temp fix. I need it able to drive by thiss weekend.

and i already tried to find somebody that would tap it for me but so far the guys i know arent able to do it right now

Well one bolt wont do it, i tried, and a gasket, or anything else wont either, if you do youll lose oil fast. Trust me I know when mine broke off in the turbo.

well i guess jus finding a good drill is the only thing i got now. I have the tap ready for it. I jus cant get my drill to go deep enough cause its so weak

thats only way i know to do it. I can drill only so much. The drill jus wont spin fast enough to cut the metal

Get a new drill bit, a bolt extractor, and use some sort of lube when you are drilling into the bolt. The bit will heat up too much and cause it to bend or break so use some lube wd-40 will work. a gasket and rtv and one bolt will not work to seal it up. So you have to get that bolt out some how. If anything take the turbo off and do it that way. That will ensure you seal up the drain tube properly also because they leak very easily.
If you are low on cash borrow one from a friend or something.

well good news fellas i busted my butt last night for bout to hours and i was able to drill enough to tap and put a new insert in. I got the a new gasket and some silicone and put it all back together..i wil find out soon if it works. It should i sealed it up pretty tight. Im still lookin for the banjo bolt causse i broke the one to my coolant line

can anyone tell me the part number for the banjo bolt for the coolant line. It bolts on the ffront of the turbo. I broke the head right off. It was very weak cause i barely put any pressure on it. If i have the part number i can order it tonight from the mitsubshi dealership tonight

not sure about part numbers, but they have them at extreme psi pretty cheap, the shipping and handling is what gets you. but these are the 17mm? or 21 or something..but i got oil ones from them, work great. i even have a used large water one in my garage if you want it, just taking up space. a little dirty, but wd-40 and a wire brush would clean it up good and fast. pm me if you need it!!

oh yeah, and dont twist the heck out of those bolts...TORQUE THEM TO ONLY 10-17 ft-lbs...that isnt very much at all!!! i had one snap when i was torquing it to 10ft lbs...good thing i had two more...but really, if you need one, i have it, just pay me for shipping man and its yours!
