I just bought a jmf drag/q45 for my 1990 dsm. I'm just going to lead off with, I'm not great with electrical.. I'm sure this stuff can be easily explained, if someone can just help me out.
First off I'm not sure which part of the tps I'm supposed to wire out to the harness. The 3 prongs that are on the tps itself that looks like the square style connector, or the 3 prong (more of a circle) connector that's hardwired into the tps. -Check the first pic to see which I'm talking about. Index finger is the box one, middle finger Is the rounded wired one.
Or do I use both? -See second pic of diagram. Is that how it's supposed to be wired? I know its from an evo website. Regardless of which, can anyone explain it a little further, in layman's terms?
--ps. I didn't get any pigtails with the TB, so I'm trying to figure out which one I need, or if I need both.
Second off.. I saw a lot of people talking about cold start issues due to the butterfly valve and needing coolant lines for it to work properly.. And also saw a lot of people blocking off the coolant lines or deleting them permanently. Mine are welded shut. How will this affect the cars driveability?
I was under the impression that the cold start issues were caused by the throttle bodies lack of IAC(isc)? Because of this, I ordered a part to remote mount the stock dsm iac.. Will doing this clear that up? Or are there additional issues that make cold start ups and low speed driveability less than fun..
Basically all my questions lead to, what do I have to do to install this, and how do I get it to behave as close to normal as possible...
Thanks guys.
