the last issue im having with my current 1g build is the throttle position sensor on my q45 throttle body. the tps seems to be going bad, when i start the car it will idle fine but i get no reading from the tps on my dsmlink. of the last 15 or so times iv started the car, iv gotten a signal from the tps twice, every other time i get nothing, no signal from the sensor when depressing the gas, and throwing code for throttle position circuit malfunction. iv checked all the wiring from the sensor to the engine harness and it all seems to be in order.
my problem is this, i purchased the q45 and my jmfab intake mani together used, and i have no clue exactly what year q45 the tb is from, or what the sensor part number is. iv been searching around for a week, and read that the q45 tb we use should be from a 91-96 q45, but iv found nearly half a dozen different sensors with slightly different part numbers(some part numbers varying by manufacturer) that all look nearly the same. i know i need one thats for a non-traction control tb, but im seeing at least 4 of them saying they are for different year ranges from 91-96.
some have a longer harness pigtail, some have a short one, all look about the same but some vary in price and are listed in ways such as "from 2/93 up", or saying its a 94-95, ect.
anyone have any input? if i wasnt so short on cash now id just start ordering sensors untill i find the right one or one that works.
my best assumption is that i need the one with the longer pigtail, since it looks closest to the one i have on my car, but i still see 2 or 3 diff part numbers on various sites for this style sensor. are they all the same? most of them have the same price for that style sensor.
