Well, my bumper is back on now, so it won't be easy to see the pipes although ill consider taking some under car pics. idk what it was about my install but the pipes juststuck out to far in the corners

That's strange. It seemed like the the 2gb Eclipse bumper fit like a glove. I though it was just the 2ga's that had to cut up the bumper like crazy. I had to end up taking a lot out of mine. I had to take my bumper back off quite a few times before I finally got it where it needed to be. Just work on it a little more tomorrow.

From the looks of it the 2gb Talon bumper will probably fit with the kit better than any of the other bumpers. I have not seen one yet though.

No, where the air vent for the SMIC, it has to be cut for the piping on the foglight side, on both sides of the bumper cover. The mouth has to be trimmed down for the core, and the bottom of the bottom either has to have the metal brace removed and manhandle it on there almost like a 2nd support for the fmic.

Does anyone have a pic of the extra piece for the downward facing turbos? I plan to go 50 trim and I think it would fit fine, but I didn't get any extra pipes.

Just to give everyone a heads up, there will be a price increase coming on the 2g fmic kits. We have been running the intro price for almost 5 months now and have to raise the price up to the regular pricing.

Tim

i'm glad i bought mine when i had the funds, Thanks Tim and peeps at Punishment.. i need to order my O2 dump soon haha.

+1. Thanks again to Tim and Punishment Racing. :hellyeah:

Any one else get there car on a dyno since installing the kit? I plan to strap the Talon down in the next couple of months.

So I just read through the whole thread and didnt find an answer.

Will this kit fit with a 2gb talon bumper?

Dude, how did you not find your answers? Did you not see any of my pictures or others? If you need more pics I'll be glad to send you more :thumb:

go back to page 7 and look at my car, looks great and fit fine....a lot of time was spent taking the bumper on and off the car if you want it perfect like myself.....there is cutting involoved but what do you expect with any FMIC?

Everyone curious on this kit just needs to read clearly or just ask someone that has already had a decent experience installing it :D. It was kind of a pain but worked fine.

today i tried to get the bov pipe to get close/line up to the FP intake i have and no dice, so a custom tube is in order unless i have it twisted the wrong way. i still have to connect my A/T trans lines and coolent temp sender unit etc before i atemp a full install of this. still havent made up my mind to use this core or the 30x11x3 i have LOLz.

hot side (from turbo to FMIC) no problems but i cant get the cold side, TB to FMIC to line up at all, and it looks like im one coupler short as well Im ticked as doesn't look like im going to be able to use this side's piping something is deffenety a miss. I can't even get the bov placement right to mount on my intake..

pics.

someone with an A/T or from PR help!!

no matter how i twist or what i do, the A/T trans push's the pipe up where you cant get to it. so this kit is useless to us a/t guys unless you can get the pipe cut up. I should of got the ETS kit.

I asked about a 2gb TALON bumper LOL joo has an eclipse bumper. :p

Grimis get a grinder and grinder wheel and cut off a piece of the pipe and just order a 45 degree coupler and 2 t-clamps, problem solved.

Read my posts. I managed to make everything fit. It won't be pretty but it WILL fit. Just use a little muscle.

My buddy and I just installed this kit on his 97 GSX. Piping wise everything fit perfectly it was bolted up in under an hour. We're going to be trimming his bumper cover later tonight. I'll update with pics when we're finished.

Yeah thats what my neighbor said but even then it will not work, it puts the bov in striking range of the hood and about 5 inchs short from the TB elbow. its like i got a have-assed kit or something.. :ohdamn:

hot side tho from the j-pipe to the fmic, not a problem at all, broke a clamp tho, almost took my finger with it, but no issues besides the water pipe from the front of the turbo getting in the way, other then that, Stock fans clear good.

has anyone found out if you can still keep fog lights from the 2ga after you install the kit? i have also heard that punishment is working on an A/T kit. does anyone know when this kit will be out?

fogs on a 2ga not sure, cant remember if the mount lower then the 2gb's if they do, no way to keep them. And yeah after a email or two to PR about how this kit doest fit the A/T's they are working on a new one, and no ETA on that. I made my own pipe, cost me $100 extra to get it to fit right but hey you get what you pay for, just keep an eye out on it and it will be out soon.

Hey guys, I got the punishment/cx racing kit, it is installed properly, but for some reason bottom of bumper gets bent when putting on, I already trimmed the bumper perfectly and there is enough space between bumper and intercooler, but the bottom part of the bumper seems as if it wont tuck in under the intercooler, so it just bends the bottom part upwards onto the intercooler. I took pics of what I mean:

These last pics, showing the gap between bumper and intercooler, still cut a bit more as you can see, but after the cut it still bends

I just completed my FMIC install today with the Punishment Racing Kit.

Pros:
+Price
+Quality is rather nice considering the low price tag compared to other kids
+The tank looks amazing on the car and hoses coming off look sweet too
+Little fabrication needed to install (A little shaving of the bumper and cutting of plasic guards)
+Mounting and routing pipe was amazing. The kit fits really really well!

Cons:
-Quality of T bolt clamps (I broke one and after that I didn't tighten as much until i run a boost leak test)
-Did not receive any instructions or pictures on how the setup should look or be done. It was all guess work.
-Wrote an email to Punishiment Racing about missing instructions, via their website, never a response back.

Summary:
All in all, this is a great kit. If you want a quality kit, it is really worth it. I did want to mention the pros and cons of my experience as I hope it can help make a decision for others.
