I was looking at this, and I saw how cheap it is. I was wondering if anyone has ever bought it and if it is a direct bolt on. What about the wiring for the fans, do they just plug in?

Im going to need some slim fans eventually, so this looked very interesting to me.

I'm glad everyone is pretty happy with their radiators because I just ordered the setup tonight. My car hops up above the halfway mark on the temp gauge when I drive at 70 so I figured it was a flow problem, I replaced the thermostat and the water pump so I'm hoping the radiator will help with this and I won't have any more problems. I will let you guys know if I have any problems. Thanks guys.

I just got mine PR radiator installed
But I wasn't able to install the driver side fan.
It was hiting on my IC pipes... so I had to take it off and install with just one fan.

Now where can I buy those zip ties that comes with the radiator.. I need 4 more to try to install the fan again.

Heres my setup.....Mishimoto Radiator and 2 12in Maradyne slim fans....In pusher form.....

I found the zip ties... now I just have to wait for the car to cool down so I can install the fan again.

So one thing it is cool that my dad did helping me out is he conected the 2 slim fans on the stock sensor, so it works just like the stock worked, and I didn't have to put a switch.
:D

I noticed my car gets up to operating temps a lot faster. Is this normal? I did put in a 170degree t-stat. Even after not using the car all night and on a cold start, it gets up to operating temp (or at least about mid level on the stock temp gauge) a lot quicker than when everything was stock (t-stat and radiator). It gets to the operating temp quick, but doesn't get any hotter or show any signs of overheating, just thought that was weird.

I noticed that as well but i wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't overheat or cause any issues.

So this radiator is starting to piss me off... and Im start to think that this was the most waste of money and its a piss of S***

I installed sunday, and the car was fine.
Monday I drove to work ok, than on my way back the car overheated. I got that fixed by adding more coolant, all the way to the top.
Drove the car... and it as fine.

This morning I drive the car and it as good... but on my way back home, guess what happened???
YES IT OVERHEATED AGAIN.

What am I suppost to do?
Can I send it back and get my money back or something??? or is this just happening to me?

I herd so many good stuff about it here, and now this happen, and its only the third day I have it on.

my car is my daily, I've logged about 1000 miles on it since I got this radiator, everything seems ok.

you have to investigate why you are overheating, is the radiator showing any sign of leaks? thermostat, cap, waterpump?

YES IT OVERHEATED AGAIN.

My guess is that all the air bubbles were not out of the system. You have to keep checking it to get ALL of them out. If this isn't it, look elsewhere because I see no reason for a new aluminum radiator to make you overheat. Maybe bad T-stat? Or maybe you have a bad o-ring on the bottom of the radiator and that is leaking without you knowing it. You have to investigate further before you can say for sure it was the radiator.

So I took the whole radiator off and installed again.

I checked all the hoses and there is no leaks, my t-stat is new... I see no reason why.

I just finished reinstalling.. now im gonna do some test driving and see how it goes.
I think ill go for those air bubles.

Thanks guys.

Yup, just take it easy on it and let it get to operating temps. Then let it cool down all the way (like overnight maybe) and then check it in the morning to see if it is low. Or start it up with the radiator cap off and watch the fluid level rise. It will probably overflow once it gets some heat in it but it will get rid of some of those air bubbles. Then turn off and let it cool down and refill.

Yeap.... that is what im doing right now... hopefuly it will work out.

I put mine in a couple days ago, works like a charm! Absolutly no issues, loving it, it helped finish off the engine bay.

I've had the CXRacing radiator for a few months now. Setup with 14" Puller, 12" Pusher (both wired to switch). Using 180* T-stat, Watter Wetter, 1.3bar cap.

My car was runnning high coolant temps after FMIC install, so I picked up the CXRacing radiator, figuring I will never have to worry about it again.

My temps will range from 190* on a cruise, all the way to 212*-216* in low speed, high throttle, high traffic situations. (Before I used watter wetter on new radiator, temps were up to 220*+) I have changed T-stat a few times, new temp sensor, and run fans full time with no breakthrough.

I blame my temps on my extreme lack of airflow to radiator, since I have a 2ga bumper, huge SSAC FMIC, a/c condenser all blocking airflow. I am hoping for a huge drop in temps after a 2gb bumper.

Just adding to info on this radiator. All I know is my temps would be well overheated w/o this radiator. Keep in mind, this is in 100* Texas weather...

i just recently picked up a vrsf fmic, pretty much the same thing as ssac... and i have been thinking about buying the cxracing radiator package that includes 2 fans and silicone hoses. here is a link do you think it's a solid set up?

i was also going to replace my thermostat with a 170* unit from stm, and i was thinking about rigging up the fans in front of the radiator, pusher style. do you think this set up will work good?

two black friday sales: Mishimoto with no fans for $175 or Punishment Racing's radiator with slim fans for $220 or the same setup with the shroud for $270. Which one should I get?

There were issues with the fans...PR doesn't even seel them now due to that.

The kit and site have been updated; they still use the same fans, which work well for budget slim fans.

DSM radiator kit
DSM radiator kit with shroud

im planning on buying the 2g kit, should i get the one with or without the shrouding?

I would recommend getting the PR kit with the shrouding; I wish it was available when I got my kit. Maybe sometime in the future. Again, as I have posted before, my average coolant temps dropped 20 degrees just from swapping out the stock radiator/fans for the PR kit. See post #68.
