Ive already attempted/finished installing this kit on my car. However, it was no easy task...and im not 100% sure I did it right.

I was told this was direct bolt-on and extremely easy to install....so unless I did something wrong...I dont see truth in this.

Can somebody please post a detailed installation (with pics) of the punishment fmic for the 2g. I run the stock turbo...which faces away from the other IC pipe...thus making this install a pain. On punishment's website it said nothing about this...so is this my problem?

Im gunna have to take it to a body shop to fab some pipes if I need to.

Thanks guys!

Also: I did not receive any instructions with this kit...kinda bummed about that.

PL69, what are you T-ing into your BOV line? Don't tell me for your boost source for your boost controller, if so.. tsk tsk.. :nono::aha::ohdamn::hmm:WTF

oh yea the crash beam is very difficult if you dont have the right power tools, dont think a standard rotary/dremel type tool will work. Well it probably wood, after going through several grinding/cutting wheels and several days.

I've got the pipes all straitened out now. Thank god! The only thing I would suggest, is cutting the inner splash gaurds for the IC pipes. I decided to go through the hole on the pass. side IC pipe and it just wouldn't fit right, at the TB elbow. As soon as I cut out 3/4 of the loop in the splash gaurd, the pipe twisted right for me and I got a much better fit. I should post up the pics from my phone.

The mini Air powered saw will work for the crash bar, but I'm sure the Sawsall will make light work of it too. You would just need to put it in a vice of some sort so it doesn't move all around on ya.

I haven't cut anything yet, I'm more worried about what to use for trimming the bumper cover. I won't be keeping this bumper, but I don't want it to look like a hack job. Anyone got any suggestions for smooth cuts?

Yes its for my boost controller but its not the main boost source, my HKS EVC 4 requires 2 boost source, 1 befor TB just after turbo and 1 after TB (the one in the pic). But now I have 2 'tees' since I installed a Dejon leak stop kit :D

@Red 4G63: I used the same small air saw for the bumper that I used for the crash beam, if you take your time and mark everything like I did you can make a good job. As for trimming the upper part, its so thin I just used a razor style knife (you know the ones you always brake the blades when twisting).

Good luck ! :thumb:

Hey, thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I was going to go with a cut off tool, but if a razor works just the same, I just might try it. I just want it to look smooth and not choppy.
Thanks for the advice!

I have this same core on my car. I only wish I had these pipes. Mine required trimming of the side vents and are visable through them.

I just installed this kit myself. Only issue I had was a clamp snapped, and having a longer coupler from the pipe under the J pipe to the sides would help a lot. Great for $350 though, honestly.

You guys think that the install should work the same for an automatic as it does a manual? Wondering this myself...if anybody has a definite answer please let me know.
I was unfortunate to get this car from my mom some very many years ago...as an auto.

if you look on the other "punishment racing 2g fmic kit install" thread there's a guy who did get it for his AUTO and it is a bit different. You can make it fit but you have to modify the pipe a little bit I guess he was saying....though he didn't post any pics, he went on to explain.....

I dont see how a auto or a manual would have any impact on a fmic install. My buddy hasa fmic on his 2g and its auto, no probs.

auto and manual trans are a bit different.

i'll know this weekend as i drop the motor in, and l'll post up, as i have an auto.

Hmmmm thanks...that would explain it not fitting up right. It seems if the pipe were just a bit longer on the top portion...I wouldnt have a problem. Hopefully the other guy with an auto will be able to confirm my suspisions. Thanks guys!

I just got my PR FMIC kit in the mail today i am so pumped i did a full front end swap to a 2gb eclipse and this is all that is holding me up from putting it all back together i will post pics when i am done for sure.

now here is my question

Hey guys, I just order this kit but I hear that it won't fit the T-25 so my question is, will this pipe reach the T-25.

Auto trans sticks out about 4inchs or more ( think 6 if what my friend told me) from the front of the block unlike a manual. the BOV pipe will need to be cut and re-welded to fit right. I sent an email to PR, and they have updated there site, to state that if you have an Auto , you will need to do some work on it (they say minor but not everyone has access to a weld shop or know how to do that for that matter) and they are working on a new design for autos.

My fix, i just went stock route on the cold, it's just to close to the transmission pan and the temp sensor for me, a good bump or a scrape of the bumper to move that pipe/fmic and i'll have something else to fix.

Its a great kit tho (besides me being an auto) hot side, no issues at all bolting it up with stock fans. Just wish it would have worked with what i have.
