Well ever since I put Tara's front mount on Andy's(slingshot) car, I have had a hard time dialing it in. I finally broke down and met up with Dave at MAC. This was just to get the car running right and be manageable around town.
We went down there with just 91 octane from diamond shamrock. Nothing special. Boost finally finished off at 21psi. This is a small 16g, 124,xxx mile 1995 GSX.
Very suprising some of the numbers coming from the dyno. Well over 320awhp when we got there with a pinch in the boost controller line allowing 26psi. car knocked real bad with that much boost.
Final numbers we were happy with were
288awhp 315tq
227awhp 249tq(uncorrected)
Keep in mind this was just pump gas and conservative(stock) timing and only 21psi. I think my goal of 300hp with that turbo is not too far off. Just a few turns of the boost controller away. Oh yea, from about 4300-7500rpms, it was below 10:1 on the wideband. So some race gas and a more efficient turbo I am sure wonderful things can happen with the little 2G.
Thanks a bunch Dave. Sorry to call so many times, I really tried all that I could think of. I needed a second opinion yesterday.
On other thing. On the way home after my fuel issue was solved, the car blew a T-bolt clamp in half. Never seen that before. Not even with my 60-1. That small 16g kicks some serious ass for what it is. Go DSMLINK. When I go back to MAC tomorrow, I will find out how much we tuned out. Total hp and tq.
