Well I hit the dyno at Turbo Trix, here are the results.

Max HP - 311.52whp
Max TRQ - 291wtq

Not really happy with the results. Im guessing they didnt use wideband, due to the fact that there was no afr on the bottom of the graph.

Also, everytime I go WOT, I see just about 40-43 knock counts.

All runs were at 20psi and 93 octane.

Any ideas?

Dan,

How old is your keydriver chip? If it doesn't have the "Airflow Cap" removed in the programming then that could be your problem.

I had the same experience as you, and even made similar power, 305awhp and 280ftlbs/tq at 20psi on pump gas. Turns out my car was hitting an Airflow Cap for the injector pulse at 15.61ms at 4400rpm and up. No matter how much fuel I added with the MAFT and AFC the Cap held the injector duty cycle to 65%. Once the car needed more fuel around 4800rpm and up to keep making power, it ran lean instead causing knock and pulled timing, and forcing me to cut the pull short to save the motor.

I have since gotten a new Keydriver chip from Jeff and now I don't have the "Airflow Cap" and the car pulls all the way to 7200rpm with only 1 or 2 counts of knock. I'll give the car and chip a good testing at the Turbotrix Englishtown shootout on the 23rd. Hopefully all will go well.

Brand new chip I got about a month ago, if that at least.

then it sounds like u just need to add fuel and you should be all good, and i'm sure you'll put down more power.

I have a few questions, feel free to awnser the ones you want.

1.) Where you present when the car was dynoed?

2.) Why put the car on a dyno with no wideband?

3.) How much did you play for a dyno with no tuning and no wide band if that is the case?

Your numbers are very low man, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But they are horrible. i made 303awhp on pump gas at 20psi with my 16g.

You just need to get that thing tunned there are alot of horse power hiding somewhere.

1) Turbo trix did not allow me to stand by my car. They gave me a window that was on the opposite side of the shop, which mine was in a corner blocked by 2 other cars so I really couldnt see it. So leaving me stranded and not knowing what was going on.

2)Ask Turbo Trix that question

3) I payed $150 for the tune which, according to the website, uses wideband. But unfortunately, They did not do so, leaving me with a horrible tune, tons of knock, and short $150...

Dan,

I know your chip is new, but you may have to ask Jeff for the airflow cap removal when he programs. A quick e-mail should net you the correct answer as to whether he included it or not. Also, is any injector compensation being used on the MAF? It sounds like a stupid question, but if the chip and the MAF are both compensating for injector global and deadtime, that could be causing some of your issues. A bit of tuning and you'll really be putting it down. Keep us posted eh?

Where ever you are getting knock, fix it. Timing is how your engine runs, and if you are getting timing pulled, that is why your numbers are low. With what you are doing, I would deff. invest in a wideband. I have one and its nice. The numbers are pretty sad, a good friend of mine made 120 more horsepower on pump gas with the same turbo while having a serious boost leak. You sound like you have a good setup, just make sure your base timing is set right, get a hold of a wideband and have it around 11:3-11:5. Boost leak test your car, and make sure you have good spark plugs.

I paid Turbo Trix to use the wideband, which they didnt... Causing me to have a seriously bad tune. Going to API to get it fixed sometime next week.

I emailed Jeff about it and just waiting for a reply. But, I have the MAFT zeroed out. Its just there for the airflow.

Im hoping to come back from API with high 300's to the wheels with mid 300's in torque.

Thanks for everything and Ill keep you all updated!

I'd suggest complaining to turbo trix and demand another dyno run, this time with the tuning that you paid for.

Dan,

We're anticipating some great numbers and we'll keep our fingers crossed on your behalf. I've crossed a couple of toes for the hell of it too. I agree with what drivemusicnow said about complaining to TurboTrix. I would at least voice my disappointment and let them know that you're going to another shop to have the work done properly. If they care about retaining you as a customer, they'll offer to re-do the tuning and if not, you're better off heading elsewhere.

Keep us posted sir and good luck!

Andy

P.S. Do fill us on on what Jeff comes back with eh?

I do not get this at all, I had a freind get his rx7 tuned in chicago and we had to wait in the front room till it was done then TWO of us got to go back for a few pulls. If it was me, id tell them to #### off im going back there to watch its my money im paying i want to see. Id complain to turbo trix first and ask them what they did to the car.

And 2nd i would demand to be present when the car is on the rollers or not do it period. Maybe i am just spoiled but #### that, i have tuned and drove my car on the rollers before several times. For alot cheaper, but the money part isnt the problem with me its be present when someone is running the shit out of my car and "suposed" to be tuning it

i went to battleground imports in atlanta to have my car tuned and they were great. they let me stand right there and watch while they tuned mine, and went out of their way to fix problems with my car. :thumb:
