pulleys for GSX... Is this true??

i was thinking of buying the 4 pecie pulley set from machv.com: http://machv.com/macvalpulkit.html

for my 98 GSX and heard this from another post""Okay, I went to my local import shop and I asked about an Underdrive pulley to see if they could install it for me and they reacted incredibly negatively. They said that the harmonic dampaner would be taken out and the underdrive puley would basically act like a tuning fork on your teeth making engine parts fail faster. So is this true?? will i have probelms (alternator pulley, power steering pulley, and water pump pulley.,underdrive crank pulley (undampened))

If there is no hamonic balancer the engine COULD vibrate. It all depends on the motor itsefl. Soem people never have problems with the Bshaft removal becasue there motor just ended up more balanced then the guy next to him. Same applies here. I would only use that pulley on a rebuilt motor that was very balanced.

how do i know if their is a hamonic balancer??? and what pulley woundn't be good to get at out the 4?

the crank pulley is the pulley that you would not want to install

IMO the pulley set just isn't worth it, that money would be better suited on other items

^yes, the only pulley that acts as a harmonic damper is the crank pulley

Bushur Racing I believe sells a crank pulley with a harmonic dampener.
