Is it true, when you put the key in the ignition in the on position, and your not starting the car; just on. Your check engine light should come on for a second and the stock boost gauge should lift off its resting place and read zero boost?

What would most likely cause no check engine light and no boost reading?

non eprom
little leaking in caps, replaced now, could be the problem.
may be having ignition problems

I don't want anyone to go too en depth with this question. I have been working on a diagnoses in a different thread. A little info on the check engine light and no boost would be appreciated though. You guy are so willing to help, I don't want to waist any one's time repeating our selfs. :beatentodeath:

I would swap it out with a known good ECU.

Can someone please, go out to the DSM, put their key in the ignition. Turn it one notch, to the on position. Wile watching the stock boost gauge for movement to the zero boost spot.

Then come back here, and post if the boost gauge is indeed suppose to read zero pounds wile the vehicle is off, but the key in the on position.

Pretty pleese... This would help me so much.

I've herd, if your car doesn't do this. You could be dealing with a bad ECU.

OK, so something is wrong with my ECU then most likely.

Does any one know if no boost at the key's on position would indicate a bad ECU? Unfortunately, I don't have a spare ECU to toss in to test if mine is the problem.

I would be in the market for a eprom or a non eprom ECU, soon as I find this to be the problem for sure.

Any one want to lone one out? I'm up for suggestions on a source of collateral...

I have a working coil pack on the way. So soon I'll be able to rule that part out as the cause of my headache.

or if you could open yours up, take pics, people could let you know if they think there is physical damage.

This picture sucks but is all I have at the moment. I took this just before having the caps replaced. I don't really know if you can see anything important here, the leaking really wasn't all that much.
