Im not sure on were to post this so here i go... i keep getting stopped by cops/pigs..!!! ok well when they do they make me pop my hood, im just hoping that the officer doesnt know their stuff.. well when they pop my hood they are like "turbo huh?" yea, did you know turbos are illegal in California... im like yes i know sir but this car comes with turbo built in... so the officer gets back up and gets another officer to check under my hood.. hes like of son turn your car on... so i go on and turn it on, then they tell me rev it so i do... but it seems like they wanted a high rev due to the fact that it didnt sound loud enough..... so i gun it and then they here my "WOOSH" I KEPT LOOKING AT THEIR FACES AND I COULD TELL THAT THEY WERE IMPRESSED CAUSE THEY TURNED AND LOOKED AT EACH OTHER AND SMILED...!!! LOL so now they say is it a stock turbo im like yes sir.... WHY DO I HEAR A BOV? im like cause it comes with it... THE ARE LIKE NO CAR COMES WITH A STOCK BOV.. THAT THEY ARE AFTERMARKET... SO LONG STORY SHORT, THEY LET ME GO... BUT ONCE I LEAVE I GUN IT... NOW WHEN I GET TO THE STOP LIGHT ONE OFFICER TELLS ME "HEY MAN ARE YOU SELLING IT?" IM LIKE YEA... SO HES LIKE PULL OVER SO WE COULD TALK... so i pull over on a gas station... and chit chat a bit so i give him my number... now i get on and leave and sure enough the officer catches up again at a light.. so hes next to me and i ignore him... now the light turns green and i step on it a bit hard and found the officer trying to catch up... LOL i turn left and he turns right... the end jajaja...


well today i got pulled over by the same guy and he told me that with this car imma get harassed alot... so he tells me WHY DONT YOU JUST GET PLATES FROM ANOTHER STATE THAT DOESNT HAVE LAWS ABOUT ILLEGAL PARTS/RACING PARTS? and im like for what and hes like well if you did then they couldnt do anything.... even tho i had a huge ass turbo or nitrous that as long as its from a different state that they cant mess with me...


NOW IS THIS TRUE... cause i have a couple of buddies that tell me thats why they have different plates...!!!!

Its deffinately a way around it. I know around here people will get their cars registered in South Carolina because there is no law on tint. I keep my car registered in the county I'm in because there are no emission laws on my year models. Deffinately an idea, but if he's the only one to pull you over so far, chances are he's the only dick. Plus its not exactly smart for anyone to gun it infront of a cop. That has idiot all over it.

i know but hey i couldnt help that turbo power outrunning that junk v8 they got under their hoods... jajaja at first i thought they were fast but since i have a dsm... i outrun them everyday..... also i was spinning all the way till 3rd gear... yet he kept a smile on his face...!!!!!

wow....just wow....


so listen guys, not to steal this thread but in PA(lehigh valley)....cops are annoying. and you cant have any tint or have decals on the windshield on the side, or aftermarket exhaust ect.ect .....now how do you get around that, I obvisously live in pa so that is my address, could I go to ohio or somewhere else to get around all this?

No you can't do that, my buddy moved here from CT with his 35r Evo and he kept getting pulled over for his exhaust and they said if he is here for more than so many days he has to register it to CA or the car will get towed if he doesn't and keeps getting pulled over. I think they give you 90 or 60 days from when they tell you about it.

what i did about that its get the law enforcement plate since u support them. they dont bother you that much. i got pulled over 7 times for exhaust, too low,and neon light but all they askedme was are u federico? and im like yes here my lic. and they go like ok. good night LOL...

God I am so glad I live in AL when it comes to car stuff.

I would have to tell a cop to eat a dick if he told me my turbo was illegal.

LOL....no stock turbo or supercharged vehicle comes with BOV's..............right... They might be recirculated vs. atmospheric, but I've heard BOV on plenty of stock vehicles with the hood popped. But the fact that No manufacturer makes force inducted vehicles with BOV's made me laugh. I mean that'd make stock turbo's super unreliable when the throttle flapper slaps shut under boost inbetween shifts, and sends a shock to your stock turbos. Well whatever....

That being said luckly I can get under that law that you have to change your residence if you live in that state more then 60 days. I guess that's one of the advantages to being in the military. I can perminently claim or hold residence to any state I've precided in for at least 60 days during the duration that I stay in the military. Same with renewing licenses LOL. Depending on what state I live in. My license stays good until I think it's 6 months after I get out of the military. It makes for some LOL situations. Like I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for 2 years, and while I was there. I let my stepdad drive one of my cars for 2 years with a expended plates, and registration, and the state couldn't do anything about it, as long as he showed him a copy of my orders that I precided in Okinawa. Because I didn't have to renew my plates and registration till 90 days after I came back into that state. LOL Technically I still haven't, and since I haven't arrived in that state, my car is still Legal... Sorry for the rant, but there are various ways around things sometimes.

About california I don't know though. I've heard you can get screwed there by some crooked technicalities from people that I work with that are residence of cali, because of the EPA polices, they technically supercede state laws, they just aren't "enforced as heavley in most states". I've heard them getting screwed over on that when they come back home to visit cali from say......North Dakota. ND has no emissions standards that they enforce etc.

If your state of residence is california, by law your supposed to register your car within 1-3 months (exactly I dont know). I was in the Marine Corps and they tried to hassle me about having an oregon plate a couple times. I just showed them my military id and they left me alone. Problem with doing something like out of state registration, license / license plates is sometimes it attracts the wrong attention. So your cop lied or is full of shit. whichever. Till last year i lived in CA with my 2g, trust me. After I got out, i still lived there for a while but any time I got pulled over I had to lie my ass off and say I was an Oregon resident just visiting. Didn't help when the same costa mesa cops saw me year round and I was about an hour from my old base and they knew I was out LOL.

No car comes factory with a bov would have told you that he didn't know what the f he was talking about.

Low key cast exhaust, stock LOOKING parts usually get no attention in cali. If you have a front mount a lotta ppl spray paint them black so they aren't noticed (I anodized my core black cause i am alergic to hacked cars). So if you do have mods, make sure that they are low key. Make sure your bov is recirculated, no intake manifold(unless its evo III or something that looks like its cast and could be stock). When you have to go to the ref / smog throw in a tune for E85 and have at it. I have passed some cars that are pretty fast but it all has to be sneeky. They also check shit for real, if you have a test pipe they will probably notice. That's a biggie. I have espilear cat back 20g turbo etc and I never got picked out, it was usually just cause I was doing something silly like rolling through a stop sign. Once it was cause one of my fuses popped and I had no rear tail lights at night. Built properly you can fly under the cali cops radar. Oh, egr, charcoal cansiter etc is also shit they look for. So that can't just go right in the trash LOL. but some places have guys that know their shit, so watch for that (cops AND smog dudes). One of the norcal cops also races scca or some shit. I worked at the track and he was always there on test days. I am just glad guys like that never took an interest in my car LOL

Sorry for the hijack but i'm going to arizona this fall for college and was planning on getting another DSM once i get there. Would i be able to have my dad register my car in Alaska ### we have no emissions

Hahaha I think they would feel bad giving you a ticket cus they see that you are supporting them and would feel like a total ass if they did LOL.... hmmmm :hmm:
