Hi,

Does PTE5530 made by Garrett CHAR?

When install PTE5530,
for the return line, I understand it is better to change into -10AN hose,
but if I would like to feed oil from OFH, what kind of restrictor should I choose?

Thanks for any reply.

If it's tagged Garrett and is in fact a Genuine Garrett GT30R CHRA, then it wants 40-45psi MAX from a very limited-flow oil supply. The head source is perfect for this oiling demand- some guys still prefer to use a restrictor even when feeding from the head.

Over-oiling a Garrett ball bearing turbo is no good because if you flood the cartridge to the point where oil leaks past the sealing rings, then the entire CHRA must be replaced as these units cannot be effectively rebuilt.

If it's a PTE-made product, as most of the newer "CEA" turbos are, then you'll need to get in touch with PTE for proper oiling requirements. Prepare for the run-around. :p
