You'll want to use the filter housing for your feed unless you check the pressure at the head and see no less than 25psi of oil pressure while the turbo is under load at low RPM.

Adding a restrictor to the filter housing source may be necessary if you're seeing oil pressure in excess of 65-70psi at wide-open throttle.

hey jusmx141 i still have a stock engine for now and the balance shafts are still in it ..how would i check the oil pressure at the head feed location...i have the oil pressure gauge on the dash reading the pressure at the head but the stock gauge has no numbers on it ...i want to use this feed for now till money comes in then i will switch to the oil filter location ...i purchased a PTE oil restrictor -4 an feed flange just in-case i need it ...if u know the stock oil pressure at the head locations at low loads and high loads let me know so i know if i need to use the restrictor ...thanks man i just wanna make sure i dont blow this turbo pre-mature ...

If you feed a PTE from the head on an engine that is totally stock and has the balance shafts, then try to run over 15psi of boost, there's a 70-80% chance the turbo will blow within the first few hundred miles from lack of lubrication.

Garretts require more oil than MHI turbos- that's a known fact. By supplying a Garrett-based turbo at the head you're basically teeing off the head's oil supply and letting it drain right into the oil pan. This opens such a parasitic drain at the head feed that the turbo will actually lower the pressure of the oil in the head, so be careful.

I have a extra restricter fitting from my 6152 install if you need it. Its a 1/8NPT to -3an then a -3an to -4an for the SS feed line. Sell it cheap its from turboaddiction or w.e. there called and you feed from OFH

ok man i hear ya ... im getting the parts to feed from the oil filter housing i think its a 3/8 NPT to -4an ...can someone confirm that for me please ...

to thread into the turbo on a non ball bearing it's 1/8NPT and your feed line should be -4an. The restrictor should be .065 or 1/16 for your setup. I know cause I just went threw this last month

i have the 1/8 NPT for the turbo already ...im talking about the adapter for the oil filter housing i just want to confirm its 3/8 NPT to -4 AN ...i picked up the turbo yesterday and PTE says not to put any restrictor on the oil feed line from the oil filter housing ...i have my balance shafts still in the engine so oil pressure will not be excessive ...thank for the info dude
