Lets get this topic going straight.
YEAH YEAH YEAH,

*BB = Head feeding (opinon)
*non BB = housing feed (opinon)
*To much oil can blow seal...everyone has there opinon....
*Not enough can kill bearings..... DUH!!! haha
*Put filter between head and Turbo (opinon) (my opinon = I would rather my turbo go bad with shavings of stuff so I know what is coming from my engine, that info is priceless... Turbo rebuild or complete engine. ANYWAY......
* I've seen and read all this.

Im wondering who is running this same turbo from the head? or any turbo that is non ball bearing from the head..... ANd there results and miles on turbo wth no prob.....

Any Garrett T3 turbo has the same center housing that your 6152E does. Just because it's a Precision or has bigger wheels than other turbos doesn't mean it deseves more or less oil.

I vote head. If it's good enough for a 14B to last hundreds of thousands of miles, it's good enough for any turbo you'll bolt to your exhaust manifold. I've seen too many Garrett's die in the past couple months from oil drawn from the filter housing. My customers moved their oil supply to the head and the oil burning and journal bearing death suddenly stopped. Coincidence?

Check out this thread for more advice; particularly post #4 from TurboGlenn: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/tur...l-feed-supply-locations-all-turbo-brands.html He's been drawing his Garrett Hybrid from the head for 75k+ with no issues.

OFH with a .065 restrictor. Mits turbos have built in restrictors.

Again same idea, back to the bb = head shit. There are lots of people getting non bb's from the head. ANd are having lots of progress. I can understand that blocking off the balance shafts raise oil pressure. AGAIN, not everyone has that prob.... My friends didn't, one ported to be safe. But if the pressure is raised then the head will get more..... So wouldn't that supply the non bb with enough oil to spin safely?>

I don't know where guys are getting the idea that the head doesn't give your turbo enough oil.

Ever have your oil fitting come loose or break at the head, or just leave the line off and fire the engine for a split second? You'd find that not only does the oil squirt about 30ft across your garage floor, but it dumps enough volume to pump your oil pan dry in about 42 seconds. How could your turbo need more oil than that?

The passenger's side front corner of the head (where the stock oil fitting is located on a 1G) is right where the oil enters the head from the block. You're not getting oil that's been scavenged from the head, it hasn't even entered the head at the point it reaches the turbo.

I'm half-tempted to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge from that corner of the head just to see exactly what the pressure is.

There is an answer I was looking for... Im doing the samething. I have a t-fitting and I am putting the head on one side and straight across Im putting the gauge. At the bottom of the t im running the line to the turbo. Just tryig to figure out what people have found out with running the line from the head for a non ball bearing.......
