Rear Lower Control arm DSM eclipse Prothane / sleeve got PLAY in arm - YouTube

secondly, installed all bushing onto rear knuckle and the lowest one is pretty wide.. /have to use hammer to get arm on it..

lastly.. check out pic of my 4th mounting point for rear diff.Since RRE not recommend use poly bushings for front shocks.. used one and fabed bushing for rear diff:cool:

Thanks

Hm well I'm not sure whether it's a problem with the control arms themselves or if its the sleeve that was machined improperly. I know for a fact that those sleeves are a real handful to get into the arms. They usually require a press. Take measurements of the diameter of the control arm hole and I'll cross check it with my arms.

sleeve:
36mm/ 1.417" 34.5mm/ 1.358"

all arms
36mm/ 1.417" 36.5mm/1.437"

I put my sleevs oposite.. right now sleeves are tight in only one side of arm..on second side my arm got 1.437" ID and sleeve 1.358 OD.. 0.079" play! Plus the sleeve is not on centerline of the 1.437" bore /check pics..

first pic is side where the sleeve is tight/hammer pressed. 2nd and 3rd are opposite sides of this arm.
On 4th and 5th pic are other arms, showing out of centerline and play...

is that okay?? looks strange to me..

When you press the old one out there is a special way to do it and if the arm is old it is even harder to do. I think you mushroomed out the arm I have pressed out prob 20 of those rear arms and never had a prob and by looking at the markings on the arm you did it. Sorry but I think you ruined your arms

The sleeve measurements are more in tune with the measurements I took. I have to agree with wooop. I think the bore is messed up. But I wouldn't consider it lost yet. See if you can get some scrap sheet metal and make a wedge out of it and hammer it flat into place to take up the play. If nothing else, order a new arm. This option might not be cheap considering you're in the Czech Republic.

ouch:coy: yes, when I pressed out old bushings arm was twisted a bit/ the end.. so I used hammer and tried to make it flat again.. and then welded "brace on the end of arm...

As for sleeve in arm.. wanna tell me both ends of sleeve is TIGHT in arm when pressed in?? If so, I can weld the messed bore w sleeve to be tight..of course have to weld it to stay in centerline of the NOT messed Bore..

yes, one arm costs about 80usd NOT mitsu OEM .. some china..:ohdamn:
Thanks guys

Drive a wedge in there to take up the play. Then weld the wedge, bushing and arm. I'd do the inside of the arm. That way the bushing is secured in the arm and the wedge removes any play.

Iam scared Iam not able weld the sleeve in centreline of arm.. that way not sure if my geometry will be okay:coy:
I drew two centerlines.. one Cline of sleeve and second of arm. Not sure where I should put wedge to be in center..
BTW I can say I damaged only the end of arms, so when I push sleeve on the undamaged edge..
sorry for crapy drawings:p
Thanks a LOT
