hey guys, its time i change my motor mounts, and i was wondering if it would be worth it to go with the Prothane Motor Mounts, or to just stick with the stock ones... what are some pro's and cons of the Prothane Motor Mounts, and is the increase in performance a noticeable difference? ive read that with these mounts, they chatter or rattle or something--- is this true, and what is the cause of this chatter...? thanks guys :dsm:

no wheel hop with poly mounts. Well worth the cost. I highly recommend them to anyone planning on modification of their cars, and even those who aren't planning modifications. I have seen no con's as it were to having them.

The obvious con is a little more vibration felt in the car. This has been discussed hundreds of times though.

Those are exactly what you need. the two left and right motor mounts are full replacements and the front and rear are inserts. Keep in mind that wheel hop is not always completely cured. If you are running 19's with LP tires then you will be more likely to still wheel hop than someone with 16's and BFG drags.

to my understanding the "inserts" dont really do much, are there any packages that you guys know of that are full replacements for all 4 of the mounts ? or are they all basically the two front replacements and 2 rear inserts... ?

The Prothane and Energy Suspension kits for the 2G's replace the center of the left and right mounts and offer inserts for the front and rear mounts. It is a noticeable difference to most people using the kits.

"Inserts" really do quite a bit. You will be happy with the kits everyone has been suggesting. I have never heard of anyone being less than satisfied with this mod.

The 1g prothane kit is diffrent all but the front are replacements. The rear is actualy not much smaller than the trans mount in a 1g and it has a full replacement prothane center section. I have not run my car with the whole kit on yet but I had then on my last car and felt no such virbation that they are thought to have but this car makes just a LITTLE more power than my last LOL.
