Proper turbo water cooling supply and drain source?

Would it be okay to use the t-stat housing as a supply AND drain source for turbo water lines? Would that circulate water being that it's coming from almost the same source location? Or would it be better to go from the t-stat housing to the turbo to the water pipe to ensure good circuclation?

The t-stat housing is so easy to use for both supply and drain but I'm worried that the water won't circulate. I've already cut off one hose barb on the t-stat housing and tapped a 1/4" female thread for one of the SS braided lines.

Isn't that how the stock turbo lines routed? I can't remember...

im pretty sure it kinda runs it off the thermostat but i think one comes off right at the water pipe and the other im not sure, i dont know how running both from the same location would work, especially if the thermostat is closed.

Stock feed from the pipe and returns to the thermostat housing.

Yeah, I'm thinking running both feed and drain from the t-stat housing wouldn't be good.

I was thinking of doing the same but had the same concern you have about the water circulating. Since i'm no longer running a water PIPE my feed tap doesn't exist and more. I've decide to weld a bung to water pumps outlet. Since my alternator is moved to the rear i have room beneath it to run a line.

Without a pump of some type you probably don't have much circulation at any point in the system. There's nothing pushing it through the system. Would you even want to run a water cooled turbo without a water pump?
