turbo rebuild source?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

One of the most-expensive non-Genuine parts suppliers out there...and their customer service sucks, too. May as well buy the cheapest kit you can find on eBay- it's the exact same as what they'll sell you for double or triple the price.

Use Genuine parts in a Holset- they're not that expensive, and available from any Cummins Turbo Tech dealer and many diesel repair shops.

Thanks Justin,

I bought this used H1C off craigslist knowing that it need to be rebuilt. However when I got it, it was worse than what the person described. It needs a new compressor wheel, seal plate, and heat sheild + the rebuild kit and I dont know if the turbine shaft is ok or not? Should I just write this off as a total loss or do you thing it can be saved? Also a local shop (Michigan Turbo) took the hot side off for me and said the turbo was toast and that they could sell me a new H1C with a warranty for $595?
