LOL nuff said ROFL

The new Dsmlink just came out but I refuse to look so I don't get swayed from EMS because from talking to jake and others who were around when jake was tuning his ITB setup this thing pulls air FAST and load based tuning is the way to go. Especially since I think the power to be had is reving to 9.5-10k:D

ECMLink V3 has load based tuning and goes to 10,000rpm.:)

Personally in a street/race car i would never settle for anything less then aem ems, if i had the beans i would get a motec. It works, but its just not as upgradeable. I mean between boost control/traction control, individual injector/map/fuel offsets, and percentages theres just nothing that can stand up to it for the price. Did they even get a speed density setup for it yet? If they did do they have a 5 bar map sensor?

There is so much control with aem, you kinda feel like you can tell anyone what to do LOL.

An update will be coming out for speed density. The update will be free. We(dsmlink users) just use a gm map sensor or the AEM map sensor. I have the AEM 5Bar on my car and a lot of people go for the gm because of the low price.

I know AEM has a lot more features. I was just saying what the new version had because it sounded like he didn't know they offer exactly what he said he was looking for.

See that's exactly why I didn't want to know that LOL now I"m kinda up in the air as I am a dsmlink guy but wanted to go all out with this setup. The kicker is I don't have a eprom so it's really not worth it to go dsmlink even though I would like to see how bad ass the new setup is. I don't think there will be a need to upgrade the EMS setup either seeing how once I get the numbers I'm looking for the rest is up to me with driving and suspension tuning.

Not to mention my IC and turbo setup is not setup for a MAF thus speed density it is

ECMTuning now does 1G non-eprom conversions for $75 if you purchase ECMLink at the same time. AEM is definitely going to have more features. But, not everybody uses them. And ECMLink will be getting the free updates with new features. It really depends on if you want the AEM exclusive features that might not become available with ECMLink.

Yeah i completely understand. It really comes down to money also. Hey if it goes fast who cares what managment its on right?!:thumb:

True. Bottom line Nate will be fine tuning it. I will let him mess with all the extra stuff he wants in a effort to make the car as fast as possible. That and I will be running speed density right away.

Dsmlink V3 sounds beast though.

It was made by Jake H owner of JHRacing. He made it and used it on his own personal 9.2 sec car and then sold it and started building his rwd build to a guy for a price that if I told you, your eyes would pop out your sockets then I picked it up off that guy. It has 4 street bike tb's welded into the runners no clmaps like other cheap setups with couplers. it has one linkage that connects them all and on top of the ITB setup it has velocity stacks on the inside and a tappered plennum to make sure all the runners are loaded up and ready with plenty of air as soon as the tb's open. I of course haven't tested it yet but from talking to jake about it the thing wants to pull air right off the bat so tuning should be a little harder but of course with EMS it's only a matter of time. DOesn't hurt that I will be trailoring it to Nate(TPG Tuning) when it's all done to get tuned so I think it will be fine :thumb:

Do you know what street bike those TB's came off of? :sneaky:

Wow. This is a Nice build. Very nice car Slippi. Cant wait to see it done

Thanks for the kind words and I can't wait either but like the title says i'm taking my time and not cutting any corners. The gf is getting me roll bar padding for X-mas and I told her it has to be SFI approved black padding nothing else so that I will have no problems when I go to the track. I"m actually going in reverse kinda with this build. I have just about all the bolt on stuff and have yet to put together a head or block setup even though for the head I know what I"m doing the block I kinda hop around on a lot. The wheel situation sucks but it has opened my eyes to other things anyway. I will be running Rays TE37 Gram lights in a 16" or 15" size with a lot of rubber with MT ET drag radials on the street and the stock wheels you see in the pics are getting suited with the biggest slicks that will fit on there and snug up underneath the car. I will probably research some of the big wigs to see what size they run. I"m thinking something like 26x10.5x14. Anyway fingers crossed I should have the CF DS and fmic stuff by mid JAN with pictures to post. Happy holidays to everyone and hope everyone gets enough money to keep their projects going for X-mas:thumb:

Come on bullet I know your no newbb LOL. The 26x10.5x14's are for the stock wheels that will be a track only setup the gram lights won't be getting tires that big. I will def look into the slicks and which size to run though. 24" tall slicks may be a better fit anyway as I plan on lowering the car slightly anyway. Not like my old 2g but a little.

Sean, take a look at this thread I posted in: ECMTuning User Support Forums

26" tires will just slow you down. They can absorb more shock than the 24.5" but you counter that with the added weight.

So SLIPPI what turbo set up are you gonna be running since you didnt get that HX52 set up?

I was just trying to get those wastegates and that exhaust pipe off boosted I already have that same manifold and turbo. Those pics you see on page one are mine not his. You can tell because my manifold and hotside are ceramic coated ;)

ohhh ok...I must have mis read it in someone elses thread...my bad...like I said...good luck and nice build

Post some more pix

After the holidays I will wrap up the paint and body work and start throwing stuff back in the car. Should have the seat in and I"m gonna be ordering my roll cage padding which has to be SFI approved and I have to get that steering wheel off so I can put a smaller aftermarket one on. The guy before me welded the wheel on instead of using a bolt but shouldn't be that hard to get off.

Kool man. What color are you painting it?. Are you painting it your self?

No I"m doing it with a guy around my way that works and owns a shop that I sell parts too. He's a real cool guy lets me keep the car in his heated garage with lift while we're painting it and stuff then when it's done I"m gonna drag her around the corner to Jay's house(Ihatedsms) and he's gonna help me with the fabricating stuff like a fuel cell and while it's there since Carver(1fastlaser) knows where he lives we'll probably do teh wiring there.

sweet man...sounds like fun...looks like you got some good guys in your area....wish I had some DSM'rs around here to help me :(

Yeah this is def not a one man show I have help from people and a lot of research and asking around and reading. It doesn't cost a lot to make a fast car in comparison to buying a fast car but it does take time.
