Products the DSM crowd would like to see made

i want to see complete led tailights, i want to see altezza tailights taken off the market forever, i wouldnt mind seeing some kits to completely seal the headlights closed on 1ga talons/eclipses so that the squinty headlights become the main ones. i think carbon fiber rims would look pretty nasty, and would definately buy a set in the future if they were affordable enough.

REAL carbon fiber interior pieces. Carbon fiber hatch, 420ato4g36 swap kits (if they have them already im sorry but i cant find them anywhere)

My friend and I are actually prototyping a 2g CF plug with an x brace that will be adjustable to add strength. Also, we've been working on the custom motor mounts (thread up for these), custom non-cruise cable and a cf timing cover for a 6 bolt.

Almost forgot, we've been flirting with the idea of cf splash guards or pretty much any plastic piece under the 2g.

Let me know if anyone is interested. I'd like to see if people still want this stuff made. We'll be done with the prototype in a couple weeks and I'll post pictures of the finished product.

Been a while, but ever get anywhere on the sunroof plug?

1g awd tubular control arms upper and lower front and rear aswell as tubular trailing arms.

Carbon fiber sunroof inner door. Does it exist? I haven't found one. Even a comparable oem replacement for that matter.

JDM style talon tail lights (white&red). DSM>JDM but getting rid of orange would make it easier to control your color scheme for us Talon owners with white, black, or grey paint.

Lips for the 2Gb Talon bumper, front AND back.

Edit: if they do make either of these, and i'm just not able to find them, let me know.

Dont know if it has been mentioned because it would take forever to read this thread but it would be sick if someone would make a bracket for a 2g to lower the stock battery down to the frame to make it clear the IC piping.

Just relocate to the trunk :thumb:

Kidding, if you dont have an optima, or for that matter any batter that guaranteed doesnt leak, it is a horrible idea.

Ya don't like the idea of relocating it to the trunk with the kill switch needed for the track and the fact that it takes that much more power to start the car. Just dropping it down would be perfect.

point taken. (hehe thats what she said..)

yeah if you have ever looked at a 2g N/A engine bay everything on the drivers side is HORRIBLY placed. especially the battery and computer.

+1 on fiberglass bumpers made from an OEM mold for 1G's...

I really want a small rear lip style spoiler, very low profile i.e. like the one I have for my STi. p.s. that's not my STi, mine is blue...just an example for you.

I had to purchase an intake for my car... It shouldn't cost a small fortune for an intake that consists of a pipe and a filter. I vent to atmosphere so I really only need a pipe with a filter. You want it to look decent so you need to spend some money. I have a custom setup being made which is going to cost me extra dough but I'm not given money to dicks like Injen that ask $280 for my intake. Ridiculous.

Next is the lack of decent body kits... Plus all of the ones I see only are covered with the company water marks and are pictures smaller than your avatars. How the hell can I make an informed decision like that? Someone needs to make kits with class. Fast and the Furious was yesteryear.

Lastly, I wish there wasn't a company who wanted to inquire if I was from Mars when I asked them about doing an AWD swap for my spyder. If I have a donor car and the performance parts I want all I need to be charged for is labor. I pulled the engine and trany out of my car twice now (thanks LiquidGS-T for the help) and I am done with this for now. Frankly, I don't have the time. I had a certain recognizable DSM garage (that represents on this site) tell me it may take fifteen hours and their shop fee is $85 an hour, and basically made it seem like they were not interested due to the excessive involvement required to complete the project. The thirteen-hundred bucks is a joke compared to what I have spent on this car already. Any shops in that are interested let me know. Spyders deserve AWD to damn it.

The reason being is that most DSM owners prefer the stock body with maybe suttle add-ons. My personal opinion is that its hard to improve the lines of our cars without ventouring into the F&F labeling. Most DSM owners are more worried about how it fuctions over how it looks. Companies ar'nt going to make products that ar'nt going to sell.

I respectfully disagree with regards to your comment about companies not making them because they don't make money. Just do a quick search for some 2g body kits. You'll find a shit ton. The reason behind this is because these guys make money off of them. My problem isn't the lack of selection... It's the terrible selection. All in all, I agree with you that the stock lines look better than 99% of body kits out there. I still want to find something that looks the way I want it because I want to change my car so it doesn't look like your car. I want a one of a kind vehicle. This is another reason for doing the AWD swap I want to do. I get the added benefits of AWD and rarely do you see a spyder AWD. Unique.

And not for nothing... For those who care only about how it functions and not how it looks are typically in it solely for the sport. My goal for this car goes beyond that.
