would like to rattle can my side skirts

I am very picky. I dust my car off every single day. I detail it at least once a week. I have sprayed multiple parts of my car and people ask me if they are brand new. I understand that it can be accomplished on a budget. Just for shits and giggles here is how I keep my car looking on a daily basis.

I'm not sure if you can tell, but there is a reflection of a tree on the hood:

In this picture, please point out to me what I spray painted, because If i don't tell someone what I sprayed, they never know.

Your front bumper. It's dull as hell.

In second picture there is no area visible on the front bumper that has been rattle-canned. In the first picture there is, but it is obvious and that is why I asked you to point it out in the second picture. The front bumper was in an accident and the paint has been chipping off and I just don't care what it looks like so I literally just sprayed the chipped up looking areas and called it a day. I have a replacement bumper waiting to have the fog holes shaved and to be painted. SO...What part of the car in the second picture can you tell has been rattle-canned?

Ha, so you showed me the first picture just so I could see how shiny your hood is? I have nice paint on my '99 GST as well, it's so black that when it's parked next to other black cars it makes them look dark blue. I can literally hold a book up to my car and read it in the reflection, but I'm not posting photos of it on here pointing that out to everyone. I only brought up that I painted my car myself because I did it for way cheaper than everyone was saying that it takes to paint a whole car and I thought it would be a source of encouragement since it turned out well. It just took patience and a lot of work.

So listen, I don't recall making any claims about being able to look at pictures and tell whether a car has been rattle canned, so I don't know what your point is. A car can look good in a picture and be a piece of shit when you see it in person, not saying thats the case with your car at all, aside from whatever is going on with your front bumper it looks like you have a nice car. This little quiz you're giving me on the second photo is stupid anyway because it's low quality, unless I'm supposed to be able to see it through that too.

The OP brought up the idea of rattle canning an entire side skirt, so I gave my honest opinion, which I still stand by to be correct. Do things once and do them right, it's unbelievable to me that anyone could disagree with that. What is the problem with saving money, dealing with how the car looks for awhile, and having a good body shop do the work? That is if you can't do it yourself, don't want to learn, don't have access to the tools, or work area, etc. The OP's car doesn't need a full respray, I don't see any dents on the side in the photo of it, so new paint on the skirt and a door molding and buffing out the whole car would suffice, rather than a whole new paint job.

The Maaco near where I live teaches college students how to paint. They do insanely good jobs and usually throw in a bit extra for free because of using your car to show students the correct steps to take when prepping/painting the cars.

I'd say their 3,000 dollar paint jobs are some of the best competition sprays I've seen.

If you do go to Maaco figure out which one is the best and who is the best painter there by checking the BBB. You may or may not have a decent one near you.
