okay so here is the back story, I was running a shift kit while my tcu was out, got a replacement simply plugged the new one in and taped off the wires going to the toggle switches.. then the other day about 4 months later mind you the tcu stops shifting again so without doing any trouble shooting i unplugged the tcu and hooked the switches back up..

now here comes the problem the switches are not working because I'm not getting any power to the entire tcu wiring harness except for 1 wire on the middle of the 3 plugs and just one of thoes get power no other power is dectected on the tcu harness with the car running or off with key on . i get no other power on the entire tcu harness.

All fuses under the dash tested well with a test lght, i did a visual inspection and even took out the ones I couldn't see too well. So can someone help me figure out this little problem because I'm at a loss .... why no power ?

well i figured it out , further testing of the fuses in the fuse box reveled a blown fuse, i tested both sides of every fuse this time with my test light and descovered that in the middle row under dash drivers side 2nd fuse from the left was blown, once it was replaced i then again had power to the harness..

Tcu however is shot, but my toggle switches are working like a charm again :thumb:

I'm having the same issue. No power to the blu/red wires on the tcu harness. Also no power to the blu/red power wire on the selector switch on the trans either. According to the wiring diagram these both are powered by the same wire off of a junction block, other then that I have no clue how to trace this issue. Anyone know exactly where this power comes from or what to check next?

having same issue have any luck figuring it out. i have no power to my tcu except the main power just like you. mines a 92 tsi awd

Check J/B fuses #1 10 Amp, Fuse #7 10 Amp; Fuse #18 10 Amp and Fuse #19 10 Amp for power with IGN switched 'ON", check T.C.U Pins #104 and #109 should have approx. 12v. If all the fuses are good then the O/D light and Power/Economy light should be working. It takes those 4 fuses and those circuits to turn on the T.C.U. in order for it to control the transmission :thumb:. This is only for 1G but fuse locations maybe different for 2G's.
