Ok, so I know there are plenty of threads on here about power mirrors and the fact that they are basically a prop on DSM's (they never work), but I still refuse to except this. I've read through as many of these threads as I could find and subsequently did the following;
-I checked the stand alone fuse as well as the the fuse shared with the cigarette lighter and both are fine.
-I ordered and installed a new switch and that didn't solve the problem.
-I checked the new and old switches for continuity and found that BOTH were fine
-I checked for voltage at the switch and it is there.
-I ran a jumper ground wire to the switch/harness and still nothing.
-I supplied power to the mirrors independently and they work fine.
My only conclusion is that the harness and subsequent relays have deterioration somewhere that I can't find/see. I know the circuit setup of the switch relies on all wires having the ability to function as positive AND ground wires at any given time. (example: wire X=positive and wire Y=negative the mirror goes up; wire X=negative and wire Y=positive the mirror goes down). So something is hosing up the circuit and not sending/allowing the corresponding polarity when pressing the switch...thus they don't work. I really don't want to do a wiring harness overhaul as the wires for the power mirror switch are spidered into so much other nonsense further down the chain, but I'm honestly baffled as to what else could be causing this problem...Did I miss something? Any help would be SO appreciated!
