ok well pretty much ive searched and everywhere i see it says that ## able to turn the cel lights off on dsmlink.... on 2gs... by turning them off am i going to be not ready again.... ?

cause im trying to make my 2g with out alot of emissions kinda like obd1 and i get cels for doing anything on my motor it sucks if i clear the codes on dsmlink and go get it inspected with the light off am i gonna pass ( ie if the let the exhaust and stuff go )

getting by teh OBDII's over active CEL policy is not an easy task..you either need to be an electronics engneer ( or at least a stron background in it ) to replace a lot of it's imputs (or fool them) with a series of resistors and diodes and find a way to falsify a bunch of frequency operated signals.....or switch to something that doesn't have a federally regulated system of checks and tests that are routinely performed (a.k.a. a standalone)

OR...do it teh PITA way and wire in an OBDI ECU...but you'd be better off going stand alone..get a haltech..super DSM friendly ( the sensors are oh so simple on our cars ) and i can write diagrams in my sleep on hooking them up to DSM's

Man this thread is really hard to read :toobad:

If your goal is to get rid of emissions on a 2G, you can do it without throwing CEL's. Just leave all of the sensors plugged in and don't hook any vacuum lines up to them. I have an FIAV bypass plate and EGR blockoff plate installed, along with the charcoal canister removed and no vacuum lines running to my throttle body and do not have any CEL's. If you unplug and completely remove some of the sensors and solenoids, then you'll get a CEL.
