Power of EVO III Big 16G Turbo?

If you don't have any supporting mods (fuel, intercooler, exhaust) your not going to gain much. You might feel like you even lost power since your exhaust is blocking flow and slowing down the spool and the computer keeps pulling timing because its going to get knock from the extra air your pushing in without the adequate fuel.

If you have all the supporting mods, you can look towards to 360hp or so if tuned properly. Maybe even more.

not to jack the thread or anything, but I'm looking at a 1991 talon tsi with a big 16g, larger sidemount, 3"dp, 2.5" hks catback, 660# fuel injectors, and a turbo xs mbc.... what kind of power should i be expecting from that setup at 13lbs of boost (and tuned accordingly)?

Dude, this thread was started months ago... And its too hard to tell with that Talon, are those all the mods? What other Fuel Management is there? That is too vague... be more specific...
haha, yea.... well i can only post in the newbie forums so i had to search :\

It's a brand new oem eprom that's been tuned a little bit to get it running ok.. or so says the owner. (I'm not sure what else to say  )

In my estimation, there is no such thing as an EVOIII Big 16G turbocharger. These turbos can be ported or left unported, yes, but I see no concrete information that states that the EVOIII16G should be called the EVOIII Big 16G.

Oh, and one other thing - WE DO NOT BENCH RACE HERE. Please do not ask such foolish questions that have been asked 3749361228456 times already. We can't tell you what your numbers will be until you get on a dyno and actually test your car out! Each car is different, and it depends on the weather conditions, and it depends on what kind of dyno facility you visit, and etcetera and etcetera.

Furthermore, onegreenewbie, why did you decide to revive a two year old thread?? This is one of a handful of old threads that have been very recently brought back to life, and it's simply ridiculous.

There is a quote, as well as numerous others... Well, what about the Comp Wheel, I know it has to do with that as well as other things with the turbo...

yea those are the modifications. I already drove it and the engine was smooth and it started up ok, but the clutch was roasted so it was hard to tell how much power it could have had.

it's a "big 16g"
