Poor throttle response, soft accelerator

i have a 99 eclipse N/A my accelerator seems very soft when i press on it in any gear. what could cause this? my throttle return spring? too big of exaust? my throttle opens the whole way, so i dont think its my cable.

it could be any of those. But have you had a friend look at your throttle cable as you pressed down on the gas pedal? Just to make sure the cable is operating correctly? also i doubt your exhaust has anything to do with throttle response, more to loss of power because of no back pressure, N/A cars need back pressure for more power.

yes i have, and its fully open. buti feel as if i have good back pressure. im running 2 1/4 pipes from the cat back. with header, but maybe ill replace the throttle return spring and see
