Hey im installing an autometer oil pressure gauge for my 98 gsx. But i want to keep the factory gauge reading as well. What do i need to do to have them both reading? Is there a spot on my block where i can just connect it there? Please rasap
thanks

If you are taping into where the stock sender is, just get an adapter fitting that will allow you to t both senders to the one port.

nah this wont work i need a t with the same fitting and it needs to at least be brass but thanks anyways

On your oil filter housing there are several 3/8" NPT ports that are plugged with Allen plugs. Just unscrew one of those (they could be a b*tch to get off since they seem to have thread sealants on them, so some have used a torch to help soften the sealant first before attempting to unscrew them), buy a 3/8" NPT to 1/8" NPT adapter/bushing from a hardware store, and plug in your oil pressure sender, which is typically 1/8" NPT.

This is exactly how I installed my VDO oil pressure sender. Some say those extra ports are actually 3/8" BSPT (slightly different from 3/8" NPT), but my 3/8" NPT bushing has been on for over 90K miles and it has never leaked a drop (I did put a little grey RTV sealant on the threads though).

Good luck.

I installed the same gauge a while ago and I used this pic as a guide. Made things a lot more clear, to me at least.
