piston rings instalation help !

ok im changing my piston rings in my 98gsx and i dont know which way to put them on top ?
thats the ring #1

which way on the top ??

You should have gotten a paper with the rings that tells you which when they are suppose to go.

I want to say the angled part goes down, that is what makes it slide onto the piston easier without getting ####ed up.

But, i've been wrong before.

the angled part goes on the top. the reason for that is when the compression gasses hit that angled part, it actually pushes the ring outwards toward the cylinder wall, making it seal better.

yes as IHeartMyHonda says the angled part to the top of the pistons ... it says the same thing on my ross racing pistons instuctions ...if there is a angle it goes to top of the piston
