Piston Rings And?

Okay so today i've decided to take on replacing my piston rings with a friend who has a little more knowledge about how to do it then I do. I've read a couple of tech articles about it, but basically what I want to know is what else should i replace while I have the oilpan off and the rings out?

Also, any information that I should know before trying to replace them?

You need to hone the cylinders before installing new rings or you will never get them to seal. Also, while you have it that far apart, I would go ahead and polish the crank and install new rod and main bearings. Might as well do it now instead of waiting and having problems later.
