Pics of my ECU, what is going on?

Lights flicker dash, headlights, tail lights, lost my horn, anti lock light has always been on since I bought the car anyways, alternator belt was bad and being eaten up (and problem I figured was cause of a bad belt that I never had time to change til I had no choice) and replaced it with a new Dayco well the whole light issue is still happening but never at base idle only when driving.

Another issue is at times when going to start the car instead of anything trying to turn over, it sounds like a power surge in the head unit area where the ECU is obviously.. could I have a bad ECU? Making me have all these issues...?

Looking at the ECU again looks like leaks are coming from some of those black circuits looks like they are leaking and in that first picture in the middle looks like leaking too.

The flickering light issue sounds like a loose ground wire. I'd check all the ground wires under the hood and make sure they are there and tight. I'm not too sure where they are all located on a 2g, but maybe there is a drawing on vfaq.com...

The starting issue sounds like its coming from the MPI relay. I had a similar problem when my positive battery terminal was cracked where the two halves bolt together to tighten around the battery post. It was only working intermittently. Replaced the terminal and haven't had a problem since then!

I can't really see the ECU good enough in the pics.

When they build the ecu they dip it in a waxy coating to protect it from moisture in the air. I believe that is what you are pointing out, the drips in the coating as it cools/drys. While the pictures are fuzzy, it don't look like there is anything unusual.

The rest sounds like electrical problems that are going to effect the ECU just like they are doing to the rest of the car.

Bet, you have a "spider web" of wires under the dash from inexperienced "web builders".

My wires aren't spliced are anything going to the ecu or around it, its all factory, only 1 guy had this car before my friend and never messed with any electrical just put the exhaust and intake on.

Maybe it is a MPI issue but lights issue I might have found, ground wire going to radio wasn't connected right maybe that could've caused it?

I didn't see anything that looked blue / acid like on it at all though.

If in doubt ship it to ecmtuning for a inspection.

None of the "Lights flicker dash, headlights, tail lights, lost my horn, anti lock light" are controlled by the ECU. The ECU is most likely fine. Check power connections to grounds, battery, and alt to be clean and tight. Remove them, clean with sandpaper, reinstall tight. Battery negative should have 2 large cables on it - one to firewall and a separate one to a starter mounting bolt.

I replaced the ground for the negative to firewall since my old one was falling apart, but didn't do anything.

The other ground wire on the intake manifold to firewall is intact too.

Where should their be any other grounds? Thanks for the help too.

Unfortunately I don't have the extra money at the moment to buy a chilton.

Make sure you have a ground strap from the battery ground to the chassis. I just fix a mirage this weekend with that same problem.

Yea, like mentioned, check your grounds. Also check your fuses, I grounded my heat shield to the alternator + on accident last week, and the car was doing all sorts of weird stuff, headlights turned on randomly, no radio, horn started going off my itself. Found out the alternator fuse was blown. Must have been getting feedback from something.

Just another thing to check, fuses can cause wacky things to happen too.

My ground for the negative battery to firewall is in good shape replaced that last year because it was fraying bad.
