Im pretty even with the older intgras at least most of the ones i've raced.the new ones i have a harder time beating.I have not been beaten by a d-series engine yet.I have been beaten by b and h seriesand also haven't suffered a loss to an f-22 either.I loose to the new k series si's by a car length,and the older si by about the same.I lost to my friends 2003 v-6 mustang very little,but have beaten a couple too. i've beaten a vw 1.8 t wagon and also beat a mazdaspeed protoge on the highway but that was lack of driver skill.I beat a celica gt but lost to a gts.ironicly i also lost to a bone stock 03' corolla so go figure.

Also honda do not answer well to turbo's compared to any other Car make stock for stock. Espcecially with the V-tech motors who advance timing alot which is a no no on turbo cars. The high compression is a pain because it will only allow you to run 5-7 psi.


hondas do have more n/a potential n/t eclipse. civic do have more n/a potential than n/t eclipse because there are more things able to do with a civic than a n/t eclipse without spending a lot of money. They respond much better to bolt on.

So what if they can engine swap easier than a eclipse. Do you really want to have a rs or gs and then spend tons of money into swapping a 4g63t? I guess that is what attracts people to civic. MOst of the civics out there that are fast have a gsr engine(b18). I see people turbo the gsr engine more than an other honda engine. About the compression, that is what having lower compression internal parts for.

My uncle turboed his integra ls and put 10 psi on stock engine. It ran fine for 3 yrs before he sold it and was making close to 300whp. Some people turbo the ls becuase they don't have to deal with the vtec.

It is true about honda cars not able to handle turbo well but i've seen at least 10 psi on stock gsr/ls/si. More than that the cars usually start to have problem.

i just don't want everyone to be bashing civic or eclipse that is all. But i mean there is more ricer which makes honda look bad because it is a daily driver car and performance parts are cheaper than a turbo car.

I think the latest on Hahn's website said they coaxed 506 WHP from an Eclipse RS.
 
You cant really say you beat somethig with out really racing. like on a stright road with no cars on it. I Can out run most cars in traffic. the other day me and my friend where out driving a 350z on a 2 lane road. ya he didnt know how to drive. but it was still sweet. but i dont say it was a race, i just out ran him. It is all about the skill. "if you have no skill you dont got none" i know that was kinda dumb

Smoked me so fast it wasnt even funny. All things being equal with drivers, the faster car is still going to be faster.

I Love my NT eclipse though, but i wouldnt mind having a little CRX ghetto-racer around for fun now though.
 
if you had 5 dollars in your pocket than you would say thats enough money or maybe if you had a 20 dollar bill that would be enough money. but iam straying off just like others do as well this is coming to the part of which cars dont take to turbo like others.. so eventualy this thred will be closed cause the person to begin with did not. and i mean DID NOT research anything at all.... its cool starting your own thred so that your name will get out there and people will start seeing you. but the thing is you can reply to someone elses threds by searching and use www.google.com and then come back like you know something. i'm surprised that this thred lasted this long while you guys talk about high compression motors and them not taking to it.

i dont know bout you guys but ive never lost a race to a civic, from the crx's, hatchbacks, and 2000s my eclipse is n/a any the only mods i have are cold air intake and headers let me tell you those headers make a mad difference i held my 4th gear up to 115 before shifting to 5th and i left a 2000 civic. also with the crx's and hatch cant wait to mod my exhaust, cams, etc... so keep moding those n/a's

first off you can keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better about having a 1.8 but the 420a will mop you up every time. the V6 mustang and NT eclipse is a close race and comes down to driver skill.

next, Gary420a: you need to learn how to spell threAd

i will have to agree with gary here all the way :p
the 1.8l's make 92hp total horspower at the wheels would be around the 70-80mark...
no offence but it you would get walked by a 420a even with your magic weight factor because the horsepower adds up our cars we have more horsepower put to the floor then a 1.8L total hp...even more
and the curb weight for a rs eclipse is about 2800lbs...
and not to be the bearer of bad news but a 1.8l eclipse/talon would definetly lose to a 1996-2000 civic dx coupe just a example.....

im not trying to defend 420a's here really... i know our cars are slow too....

Think what u want but i stayed with an integra gsr. The only reason is probably b/c it had like 350k miles on it and they guy is a really bad driver...
About the mustang thing... I raced my friend Jimmy's mustang which is a 03 v-6 auto and i stayed with him the whole way. I need to get my car fixed before he gets rid of it. He is trading it in for a ne 05 gt. He is really rich.. His sisters got her first car and she doesnt have her liscence yet. It is a lexus is300... I wish i had money

i havent raced a any mustangs beside one....it was a 1994 mustang base model v-6 automatic.....it was my friends :thumb: so we race a couple times from stop and go
and i beat it everytime by a little more than a car length...if my memory serves me correctly the v6 makes 130hp or 135hp.....
we then took our race to the highway heheh let's just say it got worse for him :p
but don't race on the street in heavey traffic it's bad!! :dsm:
 
Does it really matter what is faster stock? IMHO no car out there beats the sleek loogs of the 1G and 2G. Compare those to any other stock car I'd be more than willing to spend more money to have a car that is also fast and looks amazing then a car that is fast and a civic, neon, corolla, etc.

It's all about opinion. I think 1gs are hideous and 2g's look like boats (with the weight to back them up).

bro i don't know what your saying but i think a blind man can touch an eclipse and already he will know it's a sexy car.as a matter of fact thats one of the great virtues of our cars.great beatifull almost supercar styling fr an affordable cost.i mean,look at the 2g platform,specially the 95,for example,the car is almost 10 years old and it still look just if not moe modern than half of the little sporty coupes out there.in my pinion it has one of those designs that will never fade or be unpleasing to the eyes like that of the 240 or 280 zx,ferrarri testarosa,or the 911 porshe.just my .02
 
I beat a mustang GT once...

it was neck & neck for awhile, but i finally put it away when the tow truck made a turn.

sorry guys i felt like i had to add to this awesome thread.
