Opinions on an In-Dash DVD Player under $200

i currently have a Sony XAV-7W 7 in In-dash Monitor and one of the slim PS2s in the what used to be my back seat and what is now my back seat shelf. anyway im getting a little tired of having to find the last scene i was watching everytime i turn the PS2 off, since it doesnt have a memory.

so im planning on buying an In-Dash DVD Player to put in the din below my Sony XAV-7W to play dvds and mp3s. im really not looking for anything too flashy or expensive...just something that will play my DVDs and a disc full of mp3s. it doesnt need to be a reciever or anything, just simply a player!

here are a few i came across...i know these are by no means clarions, alpines, or pioneers...but are these players worth the money for what im looking for and which of these companies have a better record? another thing im considering is whether to get one that has a detachable face or not, because ive heard that these cheaper brands with detachable faces tend to malfunction pretty quick when you are always taking the face on and off.

one final question is...if i were to go with one of these DVD Players that is a reciever too...will that cause problems with my current head unit and the wiring that goes into that...for example my speaker wires and sub & amp wiring?

Could be one of those "you get what you pay for" deals there. Get something from a brand you trust. I have a Clarion VRX935VD in-dash and I love it, but it's no $200 model. Power Acoustik isn't so bad when it comes to speakers, but I'm not familiar with their electronics.

heck you can find clarion the 9755 (standalone with 5.1 integratyed) DVD players on Ebay for under 200. Last one I saw sold for 189 I think.

Yes, it is "you get what u pay for." From my experience, i bought the innovatec indash dvd player for under 200 and installed it on my eclipse. It works fine and plays dvd just perfect. The am/fm radio works good. It reads cd's just fine. The ONLY problem that it has is that it runs really loud and you can hear a buzzing noise when it is on. I cant seem to know what it is but i usually play my movies and listen to music really loud so i cant hardly hear it. But if u have the volume on low than it deffinatly bothers the crap out of me.

My wife's accord has this same problem after some shop installed her clarion deck. I believe they grounded it incorrectly. I think there may be some gadget they sell to counteract that. It's been awhile since I've been in the sound area since I mainly concentrate on making my car faster now. Those links all point to a website that sells decks really cheap for what they do. I might get one of those decks just so I can listen to some music since my talon doesn't have a radio in it. I don't care about brand names just as long as it does what it says it does.

I have the innovatek 386. I got mine for 108 shipped. It comes with a 1 year warranty. It plays mp3s burned onto dvd as well as dvd video and almost any other kind of windows media. For those of you not good wit math that comes out to about 1500 songs on one disc! In most cases you do get what you pay for but I think this is one of the few exceptions.

i think the gadget you are talking about is a ground loop protector. does the buzzing noise come from the speakers or from the unit itself.

well i have dealt with some of the high end pioneer and alpine decks and they sound quiet and smooth. i have allways thought you get what you pay for just like everyone else. but if the buzzing/noise doesnt bother you, you should be good.

I have that exact some one. Does urs make a buzzing noise from the unit or sounds like a winding noise.

The only thing it does is make a quiet buzzing noise when I play a dvd. I assume its because dvds spin a lot faster than cds. As far as sound, the quality is very good especially for a unit just over a $100.

thanks for the reply...hearing from someone who actually has one of the models om looking at is great! the fact that it actually plays mp3s burned to a dvd...sells it for me, thats what im looking for!
