1G open loop or closed loop

With my DSMLink should it be set at open loop or should it be running in closed loop? When it is set to open loop it should be highlighted right? Also why is the car hitting fuel cut or what seems to be fuel cut above 4500rpms. And when going up hills in 3rd, 4th or 5th gear with the accelerator in the same place it loads up with fuel into the 10.0 AFR and stumbles or falls on it's face.

Closed loop is for idle and cruise. Open loop is for full throttle. You shouldn't have open loop selected unless you want to waste gas and foul plugs.

You don't have fuel cut if you have DSMLink. Do a boost leak test perhaps.

Is there a way to acheive almost a lean burn state with closed loop?

They talk about "lean burn" quite a bit on the dsmecu yahoo forums. Guys have said they have ran as high as 17:1 on the highway without ill effects. They implement certain code changes to the ECU as well as tightly monitor it via wideband and logger.

In stock format during closed loop, the ECU will target 14.7:1
